Our representation of Halo's iconic space combat in the Homeworld 2 engine, which puts the player in command of some of the most powerful weapons fielded by the UNSC and Covenant and to provide a balanced and competitive experience.
As with the Longsword, this is a very final WIP texture. It's like going through many rough drafts of an essay and getting someone to read it to correct mistakes and add suggestions.
Be sure to check out the close-up shot of the front where it shows off the scratched metal specular map that only appears in direct light, much like the brushed metal effect on the Longsword.

You're not a mod follower are you? One of the unwritten codes of conduct is to not slander other mods. Additionally, the Homeworld mod community places extra weight on the no slander rule, as it harms the reputation of you, the targeted mod, and the mod the comment was posted on.

The competition with HSI isn't heated, me and RL talk over xfire, neither mod is out to destroy the other, RL just has his own things he wants to express, while we've always had others.
Ok... excuse me... I've always followed HH mod and I don't like something like : we were the first ones and... oh no ! We are second now because of a newcomer !

Don't think of it that way. Both mods are unique, this one has just been lacking production and I'm here to put it back on track with these textures.
There's still alot of work to be done, theres some lighting issues and resolution problems we're trying to resolve

One thing though, if this is the heavy frigate, what does the normal/light frigate look like?
Zero textured it. We're not having a light/normal frigate due to the negligable difference between them performance wise. This is basically the standard frigate, but canon-wise Zero believes it's a heavy.
All Frigates in Halo Reach are the Heavy Frigate. More PDCs, smaller hangars. There are sure people who say that the events of Halo 3 couldn't have taken place due to the smaller hanger, and they are right, but they think that this is the frigate, while nobody knows that this is the Heavy one. Our's will still look different though, for being better distinguishable.
Nobody will notice anyway :D
Personally, i'd say there's only one frigate. The differences between all the designs i'd put down to evolving technology allowing the artists to get the model closer and closer to the halo 3 concept, in the same way the POA, AR, etc. all changed in Reach.
Weapon load-outs probably do differ - The savannah and such were part of the old fleet, most likely built before the war or before the UNSC started taking such heavy losses.
The FUD/IAC were part of the earth fleet, and most likely newer frigates where some corners were cut to push them out faster without really compromising it's combat capability against the Covenant specifically - Negligable armour, some turrets, and perhaps an expanded hangar due to the unavailability of larger ships for transport of ground troops. Also, the ODST pods in the back.
I don't think it's quite like that, more that the standard default Frigate is just up armored and streamlined for combat (hence Heavy Frigate), whereas the default Frigate is more or less a small transport ship with less firepower.
There's no real difference between the two other than lack of SOIEV pods, some PDCs, hangar size, and the added armor around the bridge and engine nacelles.

I must say, the longsword gave me a boner, the frigate made me ****.
The red is on the savannah too. It just seems to stand out more here, probably because it's quite a light render.

Well, the heavy turrets for this, and then the frigate dockyard.
The Marathon will be textured after all the textured stuff gets put in game is what I'm thinking.

Looks really good! I have been following you guys for a very long time, and its nice to see some very high quality work coming out of this team. I like the stripes and the contrast of colors, will there be any color and Symbol customization like in the main game?
Hopefully! When I made the textures, even though they are very similar to the game, I was hoping the stripes would be for the stripe color and the UNSC emblem for the team color. Or... something like that.
