Our representation of Halo's iconic space combat in the Homeworld 2 engine, putting the player in command of some of the most powerful weapons fielded by the UNSC and Covenant and providing a balanced and competative experience.
Version 1.09A fixes AI problems, re-implements the vanilla races and maps, streamlines research, re-balances weapons, and adds more resources to the maps.
Aliah and I have been working hard over the past four months to get a stable patch out to you guys. She's worked hard on fixing the AI to the point where they aren't stupid, and also working on balancing weapons. I have been working on tweaking maps so they have more resources, as well as making research more streamlined and less gated in previously releases. We've also re-enabled the vanilla races and have made two extra deathmatch folders featuring old HHF maps if you're a fan, and the vanilla maps, which have remained un-touched. I hope you guys enjoy the patch as many of the complaints you guys had have been addressed.
Please note, both the Shader and NoShader version are included in the download for the sake of condensing comments. If you cannot run the Shader version, you must use the NoShader version of the mod. There is a ReadMe file included in the download, as well as shortcuts for both versions of the mod. If you can't figure out how to install it, don't ask, because it's pretty self explanatory.

Why it is so damn slow?! 100 Kb/s i usually have ten times that when i download from MODDB!
Soo .. ehh is the AI actually CHALLENGING now ? cUZ They suck at putting up a fight :/
In general they usually do regardless, but yes, in this version the AI will fight back.
A tip to keep the AI intelligent is playing with expert AI only, and launch the game using a shortcut with the -determcompplayer command line included.
i'll try and Put in that Code. Hopefully that'll make it more fun :)
do u have to add the details into the homeworld game like when u put a mod in with this?
i seem to have a problem with the UNSC.the units seem to have blank spots in them though which you can see

On the other hand, i hate to say it, but the ai is still passive. Also tried expert and -determcompplayer, but the greatest task my ai enemies and friends managed to do was the construction of one fighter and a miner.

i have uninstaled it and reinstaled it and still they dont want to fight,but on the good hand im in love with the HD colours and shading affects :)
Everything about it is just spectacular! Just one thing, my Tursiops harvester cannot harvest space debris. Is there any way that can be fixed?
I'm not sure why as they have the prop per hard points. Debris is being faded out in favor of the new debris system.

In a new new release, yes. Since we're going through patching stages now, don't expect it very soon.

We don't have a modeller anymore so we'd have to borrow one.
well in response to that i can model prity good in inventor professorial 2012 i would show you pics but i cant access my files for a few days and other then making a model i have no clue how to implement it into the game or real what size to make something like that

I wonder if you could implement boarding. Remember FXMod? They had small scavenger corvettes act as marine frigates. Perhaps you could make pelicans buildable and then just use them like that?
I believe that question was answered awhile ago.
IMO if you have Pelicans, they'd be so tiny and unrealistic to capture an entire frigate. Remember that a Longsword is much bigger than a Pelican.
If anything, the idea that was pitched a while ago was to include Charon-class light frigates as a substitute for the marine frigate and they would board ships like the Gettysburg/Ascendant Justice hybrid. However, since we've opted out of having boarding, it won't be in.

Well, one thing about the UNSC is that they are resourceful. It would be nice if a bunch of marines or ODSTs could do some boarding (Like the Vaygr's infiltrator frigate) so the Covenant's deadly weapons could be turned against themselves. Covenants however don't do much boarding as I recall and they rather prefer the "**** EVERYTHING UP IN PLASMA!!!" solution.
On the contrary, the Covenant tried to board every UNSC vessel and station they could in an attempt to find the whereabouts of Earth. That's the reason why the Cole Protocol was enacted, to save Earth and scuttle anything if the ship was being boarded and couldn't be saved.

I have done the installing process and have the file in my Data file for Homeworld 2 but when I launch from the short cut I get a black screen fro a few seconds then it goes back to the desktop.. any help?

I loved playing the mod and I can see it becoming an amazing mod and game if someone took the idea of this mod and the Homeworld play style to make a dedicated halo game for space combat like this mod gives us a taster of now, it's truly epic. Love the mod, thank you! Just one comment, could be good if we could get some coloured space maps, black space with black ships is realistic but have a few maps so we can really see whats going on :)

The mirror doesn't seem to be working.
The game keeps chrashing at random when i'm playing, anyone know how to fix this?
Sorry to be a bother but I have a rather peculiar problem. The entire game runs very smoothly, except for one part: the camera controls are so unresponsive that for example, after I press the key to zoom in on a vessel, it takes about 15 seconds for it to start doing so, and it does so in a very twitchy manner. I tried the No Shaders version and on lowest settings, but it still doesn't work... Any ideas?
