Hey, last update 11 secs before (actually already had it open before the updates page ^^).
And it really seems to be firing :D Did you do somehting more complex or just limit the turret's elevation?
I actually had to broaden the "turret's" ranges in all directions. 45 to W and 70 to H. I also had to make my muzzle bone into a fake turret:
After that it was just tweaking the gravity settings on the projectile to set the firing ranges. The Max and Min attack distance tags mean nothing when using a grenade projectile, I've discovered. The unit's atk range is limited by the ark of the grenade.
That's... interesting... I had my MuzzleA_00 in both Turret and Barrel slots. I never thought that it could go any simpler. But thank you very much! I will immediatly try this out!
EDIT: Also just noticed that the Muzzle-Bone totally was not linked to the turret mesh lol
Oh yeah, when only using a single bone, always leave the Barrel tag empty. Otherwise it creates a targeting conflict. Barrels aim up/down while turrets aim left/right...and a single bone can't do both at the same time when coded in this manner. It's just a picky engine sometimes.

Yes, and the Scorpion is more powerful than the Wraith :) The Wraith's advantage is it can fire over obstacles and farther.

Love using that to annoy Wraith drivers in Halo multiplayer.

Great work so far. Even though I'm such a fail to never have played halo I like the story, and the mod too, it looks very similar from what I've seen to the games.
Had a question though, what would it do for a turret to remove the barrel bone name and make the firing bone the turret bone?
Barrel tag must be left blank for the reasons I gave to AnhNhan. The rest is just so that the game recognizes the bone as a turret...but in essence, it still functions like a regular muzzle. To put it simply, you are ticking the game engine. I don't know why a grenade projectile would require a turret in order to fire though...

Thank you :) I like hearing that my work is pro-quality. I didn't, personally, like Halo Wars too well although it was pretty to look at (except that most of the models were really low poly). It's gameplay killed it though, IMO.
well, it WAS on the xbox, and strategy games are notericcaly hard to make for consoles. the controllers just dont bend to the rules. i personally thought they did a great job with what they had (it was a grown taste though; i see what you could dislike)

GREAT! :) I'm trying to revitalize land battles because most people hate them...and I think they are essential for a Halo mod, being that all the iconic units from the Halo series are land vehicles.

yesh, rly.T.T maybe some terrain variants then, a nice bluish colour or maybe even gold.
Pretty sure it's purple. It's a purple with more blue than red, to be sure...but not quite totally blue.
So, do you have the AA variant?

this is becoming my most anticipated mod of the year
i just simplely cant wait to play the land battles, as long as its balanced and all difficulties feel right( by this i mean like, easy is a quick short battle to see all the units, medium is a battle that is longer, but requires much more strats, and hard would be like your outnumber, outgunned, and you must win. :D) getting the difficulties right is really big for me, since most mods tweak the difficulties in the wrong direction. like thrawns revenge :D
Well I won't be tweaking difficulties for the Beta but I was considering doing that afterwards when I have feedback.

thats a mighty pretty piece of covenant hardware right there Farseer! How far along would you say you are with all the land battle things? I only ask cause I wanna try and guess when we may start seeing space units :D
I guess that the land beta will be out by the end of the summer...so space units to start appearing in early fall.
haha sweet! so maybe (this may be a bit optimistic) full version early spring?
Perhaps. I imagine space progressing quite a bit faster than land has, just because rigging and coding space units takes much less work than their land counterparts.
