Actually, the Pelican was modeled with schematics and concepts from the actual Halo game so the proportions are correct ;) Perhaps it's the camera angle.
ODST pods will not be called by heroes but I'm working on a system that will allow you to call them in anywhere on the map, even outside of a reinforcement zone.
personally, i always thought you should be able to call down reinforcements wherever the heck you please, as long as its near your units. i mean, thats the whole point of having dropships; when you have a transport capable of extra-atmospheric flight, you shouldnt be limited to only a specific point, but free to reinforce your units in the field from the nearest point possible. thats just my opinion, it was something that always bugged me about eaw. it would also make having dropships with fire support a more crucial part of the battle
Exactly! I think the main reason they limited it was to control population and to discourage base-camping or rushing. It's a fair enough system to me but having drop pods available for light and quick support will change the way people play on a drastic level, IMO. The covies will have Zealot pods as well...like the ones in Halo 2. I haven't decided if I want "squad pods" like the ones in Reach though.
Yes. And also Falcons, Longswords and (heavily modified) Shortswords. I say modified because the Halo Wars look was to sleek and round for UNSC, IMO. Plus the orange window tints were odd...
longswords seem a bit too big for ground combat, theyre almost 200ft long (i remember the scale from spino's mod); just seems like it would be hard to scale correctly in my opinion
the pelican looks different more bulky but I love the drop pods will heroes be able to call them in like Forces of Corruption - Alliance

the squad pods should be put in but only with grunts so they can be used as cannon-folder
for a min i thought it was Halo Wars then i realized that there was the turret and the landing zone indicator
And then you realized that it didn't suck like Halo Wars ;) lol
speaking of halo wars, how many vehicles from halo wars and reach are you considering including?
and for the drop pod issue talk to Firefox Nomada about calling in anywhere, he has certain heroes that can call in reinforcements anywhere on the map
Yeah, I know how it can be done. I'm working on making it so you can call them down via the reinforcement queue though.
yeah, and not only heros but oother unites as well, talk to him, one of the best moddelers i know,
He does have some skill but he is also very protective of his work. I've never really seen him help or lend assets to any modder before.
oh and one more thing, i think the cockpit on the pelican needs to cover just a little more of the nose.
Like I said above, the Pelican was modeled with orthographic concepts of the pelican from Halo 3. Proportions are correct ;)
are you going for canon or fannon and canon becouse there is a hevie pelican that id like you to see not made by me just fowd on google
Carnage.bungie.org
Cannon. This version won't make it in, sorry. However, there is a cannon rocket variant of the Pelican that will be featured.
I wonder if there will be Hornets.... I wonder.....

Oh they won't be in as a selectable unit...just bombing runs and the like.
what about the heavy gunship The AC-220 Vulture
Planned on adding that. Was one of the cooler Wars units IMO.
It is also one of the units I hope they add to a future halo game, a guy can dream.
WOW! Thats really good!
Is it me or does that pelican look like a small version of the Command/combat giant helicopter from Avatar?
Yes, it does. I believe the one you're talking about had the callsign "Papa Dragon"
I'm not a big fan of Halo and even I think this looks cool.
I think this Pelican looks more like the Reach Pelican. For some reason I thought the Reach version was slightly bigger than the Halo 3 version.
It does lean more towards that design and the Reach version is a bit more, say, bulky than future versions.
are we going to be able to controll the pelican?
In space, yes...not on ground.
