This is just to show off the new effect with the new normal maps on them with the improved Elite model.

Yep :) Just uses the ability that Luke has in the OG game. But its only for Spec-opps Elites.

Any idea what they look like with lower graphic levels/no shaders?
Cause, don't think I'll be able to see 'em. And that'll suck, because these look spiffy.
Yeah...um graphics will have to have heat distortions enabled to see them.
