This beta includes the nearly finished land portion of the mod. It is being provided "as-is" for the purpose of publicity and bug/general feedback.
It's been nearly 2 years of work and anticipation but the LAND BETA is finally here! Merry Christmas Halo fans! The beta ONLY supports land combat in skirmish mode. Galactic conquest has been disabled and space battles may cause crashes as that part of the mod has not been worked on yet.
Some features of the beta are subject to change, depending on user feedback. Some features are also not yet finished and will be included when the space beta is released.

INSTALL:
Simply place the contained folder (Halo) into you Forces of Corruption, root directory "Mods" folder. ie: C:Program Files/Lucas Arts/Forces of Corruption/Mods
If you do not have one of these folders than create it yourself. After placing the contents in the correct place, move the contained shortcut to your desktop and make sure that the "Target" is located to the place you put the files. The part at the end (MODPATH=Mods/Halo) MUST be included in order for the mod to load when the game does.
If you have other mod files in your FoC Data folder, these will override anything that's in the Mods folder, so remove them or this mod may not work correctly.
UNINSTALL:
Simply delete all files to uninstall.

WELCOME TO CAMPAIGN COMMANDER - LAND BETA:

HALO: Campaign Commander puts you in control of the mightiest armies that the UNSC or Covenant has to offer. Fight a single battle or pit yourself in endless skirmishes across an entire galaxy, using all the units you've come to love from the Halo universe.
This version of Campaign Commander is the first of two public betas. This first beta will allow players to 'field test' the land portion of the mod to find bugs, learn strategy, and leave feedback.
NOTE:
Galactic Conquest and Campaign modes have been temporarily disabled as space combat has not been worked on up to this point. If you attempt to play space battles, be aware that there is a high probability of a crash or program glitch. Please ONLY PLAY LAND BATTLES FOR THIS BETA.
Also, all land maps SHOULD work with this mod, even the original Star Wars maps. However, a single Halo map with accurate props has been included for the beta. To access it, click the "enhanced" button at the map selection screen. Select the halo map and play!

i have to say great work, but just saying maybe make the models a little more detailed cause if my halo mod can have spartan's that are over 30,000 poly and no one has complained about lag in my mod and i myself have no lag, maybe making some of your infantry 3 or 5k with a bit more detail wouldn't hurt, but that's my opinion, cause this engine is capable of handling way more thin what you guys think it can
People have complained about lag on your mod, FYI. I've looked. 1 to 2k polys per unit is standard for an RTS. I'm glad you think I've done ok though.
i only seen 1 person really complain about it, but you also have shadows on all your units which in my mod if you've seen i don't cause i know if i add shadows it will make it lag and i guess the finer details like that makes your mod great and i've played all of about 10 minutes so far and this is amazing once again great job
Shadows effectively double the poly count. So yes, with bungie's models, that would cause massive lag. My animations are also usually longer than the stock ones and every frame is a bit more pull from the processor. Its a give and take; you just have to find the balance.
btw Mckay i played your mod it wasn't as good as this one
It's an RTS the unit's don't really need to be that detailed,and yeah,shadows are very important,kind of looks a little...stupid without them.
I'll start off by saying, Welcome back, Jake Green. ill go on by saying your models are all ported, his models are 100 percent home-made with maybe a few exceptions, not sure. Also... Farseer is probably (IMO) the most skilled modder in the community.. maybe try not complaining so much. You've overstayed your stay, honestly.
My models are NEVER PORTED. EVER!! In fact, the ONLY thing in my mod that is OG halo is some of the audio (well, most).

Thank everyone who's had a chance to download so far. A news post is awaiting authorization and should be up soon. That news post will be the ad hoc forum space for any bugs found and constructive criticism, etc. I would appreciate it if everyone held those types of thoughts until they can post them there, that way they are all in one spot and easy for me to refer to. Oh i should note to everyone that bombardments have been dissabled for the beta. I was in the middle of reworking them and what i had was ugly as sin...so i just removed it for now.
i played it and i had icon problems they were all scrambled and the skirmish menu was invisible i need help i really wana play thiss mod its awesome and i voted for it!!!
Make sure the game is patched. Ive seen this before and every time it was becuase of installation or patching mismatches on the users end.

You installed wrong or didnt patch. Could also be a corrupt download.

I've had the graphical error you guys are describing on other mods - not finished downloading this one yet so I don't know if I'll have same problem or not but another possible cause is outdated hardware - my ancient 64mb video card has been the cause of my woes every time a mod didn't play for me - Alliance 4.1, Corporate Add-on Mod - IVM (1.1 I think) all were too much for my video card - played these on other PC's and they were sweet mods but old video cards are a no go - not disagreeing with Farseer I've seen what he described a lot too just wanted to put this out there in case somebody else is using old equipment like me and has no luck

Needs alot of work, What you have so far is great but this isn't beta ready. No offence. The fact that my enimies could still purchase near invinsible Darth Vader's to help them and the fact that alot of icons and even text still mentioned star wars stuff. I have some more constructive criticism but I'l save that for the news post.
This has nothing against your work so far, from what I can see It's really awesome, It's just not ready yet. Still quite a few bugs. Thanks for the entertainment anyway.
Most mods aren't even this far along at this point. The fact that the Covenant isn't using Imperial or rebel voices, but rather, Covvie voices is certainly worth a noting. Pretty sure you can "comment out" ( double backslash in the XMLs, iirc) the heroes if they're that bad.
Just sayin'. Hope I didn't offend, since that's not my goal.
The AI building Vader is easily remedied by disabling heroes in the skirmish menu... Also, if your game is still using Star Wars text, than you did not install the text file correctly. Every unit that has been added to the mod uses custom text and even the new building have custom text entries. I would actually like you to post your feedback in a PM because you are the only person who has the opinion that you have (or at least posted about it) and if there is indeed something horribly wrong, I need to know now.
