The third part of the Halfquake series has finally seen the light of the day. Over a hundred new traps that will kill you over and over again - for the enjoyment of whoever's watching you. Claustrophobic black-and-white surroundings, intimidating voice-overs, and a new ambient/industrial soundtrack with over an hour of playtime.

superb mapping work, although the ending could have been better, and the audio had a lot of background noise

This Half Quake comes with a more grey and despairing atmosphere. New maps, new cruel jokes and new frustrating puzzles, although some of them aren't so complicated as before, compared with Half Quake 2 for example. The atmosphere is original, but monotonous after a while. Good thing there is good soundtrack and the dialogues of the "bosses of the sadism institute" to make it tolerable. I like the idea of mixing in a specific part all Half Quakes, but I was expecting a new ambience for the first one. The game becomes way better reaching to the end, in terms of puzzles, dialogues and story, taking a complete turn. The game, thanks to the big part of repetitive ambience, is long enough.

In short, it's a good ending for the trilogy, that preserves the trial-and-error gameplay of the prequels but with unique atmosphere and new puzzles. Worth the trying.
