Halfquake Amen is part 2 of our Halfquake series.
(The first part of Halfquake appeared in 2002 June's issue of PC Gamer)

We have been working on HQA for more than one year and it has been released on September 1st 2002.

Here are a few features:

- Complete new textures and sounds
- Absolutely confusing design
- Soundtrack with more than 30 minutes of playtime
- Twelve parts of pure sadism
- About six colors (black, gray, green, white, yellow (alienblood), red (mostly your blood))
- And of course: No HEV Suit

We've got some screenshots too:

Finally, after roughly three years of development, the third part of the Halfquake series is available for download (Mirror #2, Mirror #3)! Here is a list of frequently asked questions.

What is it about?

As in the previous two parts, you once again play the role of a victim, thrown into a strange and deadly environment to suffer and die - for the entertainment of whoever is watching!

What is required to play?

Halfquake Sunrise is a Half-Life 1 modification and works with both the old WON Half-Life and the Steam version of it. Thus, you don't need a high-end PC.

How long is it?

It takes about four to five hours from beginning to end, depending on your skill.

Is it free?

Yes, both the modification and the soundtrack (Soundtrack Mirror #2, Soundtrack Mirror #3) are available for no cost at all.

Is it single-player only?

Is there a walkthrough available?

No, but you can help unlock traps for hints or join the forums if you require aid in your progress.

Can I watch the trailer again?

What do HalfQuake and HalfQuake Amen actually have to do with Quake? Their FAQ doesn't exactly help when half of it's all fake questions.

This is the best mod I've played for any game. I played it twice, and downloaded the great soundtrack. Very original stuff. Overall great mod. I would suggest this to any half-life player.

Well,it's not that I'm against puzzles, but i'm stuck at the starting itself, after pressing on the button "OK" of the "you're such an optimist" room. I could'nt finish the training mission either,I kept dying.Let me finish the game and then i'll give an opinion

Original concept... okay, I would give it that... except making a game really, really hard is nothing new... nor is it particularly clever to put jumping puzzles in a FPS. I could get into that little doorway in Part 2 once, but I could see you would have to do it many times...

Normally, I find difficult games really addictive, but this is "******** difficult". Not for me.

Masochists, on the other hand, love it... see above. Try it and see.

Do not be discouraged by the challenge of this mod, reference the walk-through and continue to the end, it is well worth it.
