July the fourteenth, 1883: Being rather rudely awakened after a night of drunken revelry; Half-Rats is thrust into a rather dire situation. Utter calamity has erupted in the streets outside of the general store which he calls home - calamity of the most unnatural and horrific kind, that is. Now he and the shop keeper, Mr. Trask, must hold out against this infernal host of creatures together. Will they survive the night?
Re-animated corpse sewn into a bear suit. One of seven types of enemies you'll be facing.
Turned out a lot creepier than I had imagined it would. There's a reason why I'm showing this to you and, you'll see why tomorrow.
That's extremely off putting.
Nailed it Half-rats! :D
This is looking so promising! Glad to see such a engaging Halflife mod being developed, its been a long time since something on par with They Hunger showed its creepy face
Thank you! I got a bad case of nostalgia for Goldsource and just had to go back and see what I could do. It's been frustrating and fun - and giving all of you a fright while paying homage to the old school is something I look forward to.
This is ******* creepy, well done!
Even more scary than the Afraid of Monsters zombies.
Gah, ****!
i have a few suggestions to improve the "creepyness OMFG I ******* MY PANTS lvl" of this model and some graphical improvments they are:
*add a little brushing effect to the bear fur (texture) to look more like a real teddy's bear fur
*maybe a strange black liquid dripping from the eyes would look creepy as f#ck
*a little more flesh wounds and exposed muscles or bones (not making it look like a meat bag)
*some bloody claws on the paws too
*some bloody claws on the FEET (sorry i took too long to realize the error)
This is definitely something I tried to go back and do when my girlfriend suggested that I add more texture. The problem that I ran into was that I couldn't work in layers to add any new texture in - I would have had to start all over! Yikes. I think I have found a workaround, though.
maybe a patch in the future, chill out and make this awesome mod happen dude
I believe this mod will redefine 'horror' in the GldSource as we know it...
love how you edited the headcrab part of the zombie model for the face. most people would criticize that but i see it as clever repurposing
The outline of a skull had always been there, just thought it was perfect the way it was.
Now this, is one of those things so unique and amazing, and downright horrifying that you so rarely see these days.
