The campaign of this mod takes place during the Seven Hour War. You mostly command armies of Combine Synths and Advisors, but on some levels you will play as the Human Armies, and on special levels you get to play as a Gonarch commanding Headcrabs, or as Glowing Antlion Guardians commanding Antlion Colonies. In Co-Op mode, both players play as one army of the team. They share resources and work together against the enemy. In Multiplayer Local, 1 player with up to 3 ally bots against 4 enemy bots, play against each other. Teams to be chosen involve Combine, Americans/Germans/Japanese/Russian, headcrabs and antlions. Online multiplayer will be like local multiplayer, but with actual living opponents, open slots being replaced by bots. The armies are vast, the stories are vast, the combat is vast. Everything you can expect out of the seven hour war, and more. WE ARE RECRUITING!!!!!! We need programmers, skinners, modelers, anyone who can help is welcome to an interview!
so i did as much as i could because this is a rts i have a limit when it come's to poly's and skin detail
Game on, baby!
Wonder what I will be able to do with that .50 :3
Strider cannon food?
Seriously.... add more poly's !
OK get C&C 3 and spawn about 100 car's now spawn 50 ppl and send it to anther base now you should a lower frame rate and btw i added more poly's
@1337killer: This is an rts you can't have high poly models are you will lose frame rate fast.
Have you ever played Star Wars: Empire at war or any of the Stronghold series? The models look good from a distance but up close they look bad.
i love strong hold ^^
Add more poly.. Its Source Engine. This model is good for C&C Generals..
Guys, slightly more poly, adn you'll be fine, keep up the good work. btw you only need stuff that low poly if you're going to have like, 500 npcs on the map at once, even if they were high quality, it would lag the same.
It may be possible to have over 800 units on a map at once... That's about 4000 models if they are all infantry squads. This would be a fairly rare occasion, and dependent on multiplayer game mode, but its possible. This is why everything is so low poly...
all vehicle model's will have a normal map's to help with detail all detail that is minor is going to be on the normal map
The .50 cal machinegun looks too small...also i dont want .50cal mg because its actualy stacionary weapon, add M249 SAW turret...
poly is good
texture is bad(well, kinda)
Texture simply needs a bumpmap, however, poly count really doesn't need a jump for this would be the model from aerial view. The crease lines seem too dark. We could have anywhere from 10 to 60 of these on screen at once. In multiplayer, even up to 120!! So I think normal map is better than actual polygons in this case. I know the ModDB community LOVES to see high polygon work, but that's something we need to avoid here, especially for lower end PCs...
And actually, I think an interesting addition to this could be heavy artillery on the top instead, considering how tough the combine can be.
Vote + if you think so.
