Half-Life Overhaul Pack - it's a high-quality replacement pack for the original Half-Life models and sounds. As fan of singleplayer episodes I played a lot of the Half-Life mods, and all about improving of the playing experience were always interesting for me. So I made this package that can be used not only to play Half-Life as it is, but for playing different Half-Life mods too. Models and sounds included in this pack are not only my personal work. I'm just tried to gather some amazing elements made by other people, edit these elements and create new stylish replacement pack. I also had the task to save full functionality and classic style of original Valve's models for all of their replacements and don't forget to improve and fix all I can.

Hi, all!

I decided to continue developing of Half-Life Overhaul Pack. Now I have 2 main objectives. First objective is an updating of some models, which have different lacks. All fixed models will be released as a patch to the main pack. Second objective - is a further visual improving of textures, used by models of Overhaul Pack. I want to re-work a big part of these textures to full-color Hi-Res quality and release them as an add-on to the main pack.

But there is one big problem - original Half-Life "Gold Src" engine has no official support for using full-color HD textures on models. So at this moment this part of the pack is intended to use under Xash3D engine. If you still know nothing about this engine, you can check its' profile on ModDB:

Xash3D is a powerful game engine, almost totally compatible with wide variety of games and mods, which can work under original Half-Life (except a multiplayer part, because it's not fully completed). And also Xash3D has a lot of new improved features, for example, proper support for using full-color Hi-Res textures for models, maps and decals. This makes Xash3D an ideal engine for playing singleplayer Half-Life mods. So I recommend to all fans of singleplayer Half-Life mods to become familiar with this engine.

I have uploaded some sample videos with demonstration of using full-color HD textures for models from Overhaul Pack under Xash3D engine. Take a look on them (it's better to use HD mode) and stay tuned!

Valve made that with their questionable ethics of engine's updates, not me :D. Though problems may depend on how you install it.
