I gave this a 6 mostly because "gotchas" are so lame. Anyone can make the bad guys spawn all over you and that lost any merit back at Doom 1. I also felt the whole Japanese theme were a few graphics and a katana. Mod would have been so much better developing a samurai/ninja type of flavor throughout, and plan traps instead of just either dropping you into a room of baddies or just having them spawn next to you.

Good potential here but no challenge in game play. Pretty straight forward fight and move, which is fine is you want that kind of thing. Recommended only if you have no others mods available and really need to play.

Excellent little romp – lives up to its name. Tis quite “old school” reminiscent of Quake style maps.

Does get a little repetitive at some points, but the shear number of these arcade style maps makes that inevitable I suppose. The mapper avoids many of the pitfalls of game design, such as enemies with unlimited spawns, and, with one or two exceptions, keeps artificial game lengthening to a minimum. (This mod will, none the less, provide many many hours of game play)

You should really try to find the Japanese language version of Half-Life and apply that sound set (seems it exists – I’ve seen videos of it – although it would add quite a bit of size to the mod.) A ninja-action soundtrack wouldn't hurt either. I think one could further resample the wound sounds, change the footstep repertoire, and maybe even reduce the gravity/increase the speed of the player a tad to complete that “I am ninja” emersion. ;)

PS. Make keys glow-pulse – I missed a few in the dark. ;)

A more serious, less tongue-in-cheek, Half-Life: Tokyo (City Jyu Nana?) would be a really fun mod concept IMO. Toss in some ninja moves and powers and ye may have something there. Tokyo rebels build a cyber ninja and let him lose against the Combine? What's not to love? ;)

Just finished it yesterday, worked fine throughout. really a HUGE mod. a bit disapointed by the end. Expected something a bit more to finish with a BANG. but still really a great mod, lots of variety, eye candy and funny stuff too. My congratulations and thanks to Al-Bundy

It was saving to a weird file, I got it figured out.

But now I am stuck at the reflection part with the waterfall! How long will it take for me to break down and no clip?
