Ryan wrote:After careful analysis of the technology, the decision has been reached to offer a Source version of Nightwatch in addition to the current release plans. There are, at this time, no plans to abandon development for Half-Life 1, though. We're all very excited about the Source engine and would like those who have purchased Half-Life 2 to be able to enjoy Nightwatch in a higher-quality, more feature-rich environment.

Ryan wrote:As a result of the recent decision to produce a concurrent Source version of Nightwatch in addition to the original plans, staff positions have opened up in two specific fields to accomodate the extra work required: programming and level design. If you believe you are qualified in either of these areas and would like to contribute, or would like to try out for one of the existing open positions for model texturing (skinning), player/NPC animation, or voice acting, head on over to the Jobs page for more information.

This mod is still active. There was a long period of restructuring, after they lost critical members from the mod, including the project's founder, who was recruited into the Quake 4 project by Raven Software (yes, that is THE Quake 4). Updates have begun anew on the mod's homepage. They are currently looking for a variety of positions that need to be filled.

Since the project's founder, KungFuSquirrel, who is no longer with the project, was the one who first created this ModDB profile, it is unlikely that this page will be updated anytime soon. I suggest that any interested viewers instead bookmark the mod's homepage at Hl-nightwatch.net.

Totally agreed, dethtoll. It was a completely stupid decision to make and I'm really disappointed with the team. It had a very unique look to it and I remember back in the days, where it actually progressed, when I just couldn't move away my eyes from the screenshots.

Shame.

Sounds kind of right BUT then why not just write Build stage:alpha testing? Seems a bit more reasonably, although prehaps you're right :\

I think that when a mod is "Internal Alpha Released", it doesn't mean that regular fans can download it and play but instead it's being tested by the mod-team. I’m not really certain, but I guess it’s something like that.

For crying out loud, DID you NOT read what I just wrote? IT'S NOT DEAD!

-->NOT DEAD!<--

If this mod would be decided to be cancelled, they would tell us that? Wouldn't they?
Now please if you could, stop going around spreading false rumours. It’s completely unnecessary.
