Half-Life: Metamorphosis is an expansion pack styled mod for Valve Software's science fiction first-person shooter video game Half-Life, in the vein of Half-Life: Blue Shift and Half-Life: Opposing Force. Half-Life: Metamorphosis follows data analyst Holly Byrne at the time of the Resonance Cascade.
A quick look at the strange and mysterious guards that operate in the newly-built but highly secretive areas of Black Mesa. Just what are they hiding?
Something fishy is going on. Cool design!
This skin is pretty bad... sorry. All you did was make his clothes grey, add some badly textured on sunglasses and change the logo on his vest.
The similarity to the Barney guards is intentional, they are not supposed to be radically different. In the interest of making the mod as good as it could be, can you suggest any changes I could make to the model/texure to improve it? I am already considering replacing the (admittedly slap-dash) sunglasses with a three-dimensional pair similar to the welder grunts from OpFor.
I'd suggest changing his fatigues (clothes) entirely and giving him possibly a new vest. If he's supposed to be a guard that is guarding really high profile areas, I'd give him a lot more armor in many places. Some shoulderpads, kneepads, thighpads, etc.
The clothes and vest are likely to stay as I want them to be recognizable to the player as BM guards. The shoulderpads and kneepads thing is a cool idea though.
Maybe you could arm them with 357.
l like the idea, they'd be a lot more threatening with a revolver.
Will these guys be as deadly as the "Human Assassins/Black Ops" Or a moderate threat like the Human Grunts?
At the moment I have them serving the same functional role as the Barney guards, so no threat to the player at all, in fact, a small help in some areas. I have no plans to make them hostile to the player.
I Apologize. After reading about the "private" guard, It gave the impression of a hostile human enemy like the Bodyguards from Sven Co-Op
I don't blame you, they've got a bit of a threatening look to them. These guys are meant to pop up in the later chapters of the mod so the difficulty should already be sufficiently high, but I could go the 'bodyguard' route if I feel the player is not being challenged enough.
