Half-Life Havoc is a mod for Half-Life 2 centred around physics. The objective is to create a middle ground between Half-Life 2 and Garry's Mod. The idea is to take the constrained physics play present in Half-Life 2 and combine it with the lack of urgency present in Garry's Mod. You are presented with a number of premade physics games or puzzles, but each one is designed to encourage free play within the given puzzle. The mod makes use of Valve's developer commentary system so with developer commentary mode enabled you are able to hear explanations of the physics and the games. This allows you to experience the Half-Life 2 engine's physics system and explicitly consider the physics, rather than playing the game with the physics in the background.

That's right!

It's up here

Gamecareerguide is the sister site to Gamasutra. They focus on student projects and getting into the industry.

It's almost the same as the essay up on the HLHmod site, but we reworked a few things taking into account some of the comments we received from all you lovely people!

Cheers!

This is Alpha 1.1. Almost the same as the last release, but all the games can now be reset with buttons to be infinitely replayable.

Here's Alpha 1. There's a bit more to do, but still no commentary. That's the next step.

I don't see why this should be a mod. I mean you aren't doing any programming. The only thing you did was make three maps and call that a mod.

The point is to use existing game stuff to make a mod to play with the games physics. It's a mod because it's discrete from the game, and we're going to do commentary but almost all of that has to be done after all the mini games are done.

In essence nothing is modified, it's taking all the assets extant in HL2 and making a discrete environment devoted completely to contemplation of the game's physics. It is not a mod in the sense of creating new assets for the game, but a mod to change one's way of thinking about the game.

since i didnt see any goal or subject in current release i made my goal myself.

my goal is to put my head inside the that dead bodies are coming from, and i achieved it.

this is the way i do it : Img165.imageshack.us

and this is the secreenshot(my head inside the hole):

the current build doesnt have much diffrence from that js_build_puzzle series. i mean a mod should add something or modify the things in the game.

There is no goal to the current release as commentary has not been implemented. The overall goal of the mod is to provide physics play with commentary about the physics.
