The Universe modification for half life 2 will immerse the player in the expansive universe of half life.

Dropped off on the coast after escaping the combine controlled area of City 17, the player will have to quickly evaluate the situation and form alliances with other players if they are to survive.

The Universe mod combines elements of RPG with FPS, but follows the strict guideline that such things as ‘levels’ and ‘quests’ do not detract, or even make it into the game. You will find no level 1 ‘kill 6 antlions’ to proceed quests here.

The player will have various options to choose from. Do they join forces to create communities of illegal squatters? Do they join the local overwatch forces trying to keep order and enforce the ‘combine’ law? Or do they join the rebel forces to crush the combine presence?

This is not a game for lone wolves. A citizen lost and surrounded by his many enemies in this hostile land will have a tough time even survivng the first half hour...

The mod will focus to be as authetic to the original half life 2 universe, but will also include other factions and vehicle variants based on ideas we have come up with via artistic license.

The mod is currently planned to incorporate the following features

- Permanent characters will allow the player to keep a constant role playing character in the hl2 universe

- A fully flexible skill system allowing for customisation of character and a versatile experiance

- Realistic Damage system and Death scenarios that will test the player to the limit of his ability. Does the player risk taking on that enemy realising that he could just as easily be killed? and that by being killed he will lose his persistant character?

- Faction system will allow for organised combine and rebel factions, all attemting to fufil their goals in this desolate landscape.

- Base system for both factions provide tense gameplay, as each faction attempts to protect their interests.

- New vehicles and weapons such as the hand held, deployable manhack bring the hl2 universe to life.

if in the sad eent that you are unable to continue with this, =(, it would be nice if u could release all the current work with agreement to sign i.e give credits to you and others who worked on this, then someone (not me i cant code) might be able to start this up again themselves in the future, it is a very good idea.

I hope u dont have to do this though it would be great for you to be able to continue work on this

I have had major issues with the team and support, but me and a mapper may continue on with this project. i cannot guarantee anything, but i may try and revitalise this soon. We need dire help in the coding department, and our last coder was of no use to us and did not send ANYTHING in on time.

Anyway, enough rant, ill try and get some things sorted.
