Half-Life 2: Retaliation is a singleplayer Half-Life 2: Episode Two modification. It brings you into the familiar world of Half-Life 2 just as the antlion invasion of Nova Prospekt takes place. You step into the shoes of a notorious Rebel soldier who has been held captive in Nova Prospekt for months. During the invasion, he escapes his prison cell and goes on a long and violent mission to retaliate against the Combine, and aid the Resistance in the revolution. Travel through brand-new areas in Nova Prospekt, fight your way through three never-before-seen locations in the Half-Life 2 universe, witness the beginning of The Uprising, and ultimately carry out your retaliation.
The brand new variant of the Metropolice, the tougher and more deadly Civil Protection Shocktrooper defends important Civil Protection buildings and interests, including the central headquarters for all CP activities in City 17.
I would also make some riot controll cops, armed with shock sticks and some shields. And a thougher soldier variant for NP.
Well, for the cops it'd be difficult to program that, and for the NP variant, I think its fine. Did you know that in Nova Prospekt, the soldiers are 3x as more likely to be carrying shotguns, because of the close-quarters battle that goes on.
shouldn't be that hard to get that in? Maybe you could also add a cqc elite combine unit, only carrying shotguns and being very aggressive.
Well, its non-canonical. We've been implementing new areas and this new enemy because its canonical. The Inland, The Tunnel, The Shipyards, these are locations that are likely to exist in the Half-Life 2 universe, and that's why you believe them and when you see it, you'll love them.
We won't take the risk of implementing something your not 100% sure to believe, such as a new soldier variant. Its just not part of the canon.
My defense for the CP Shocktrooper is who's to say the Civil Protection didn't have an elite guard, or SWAT-type of branch of the police force. Every police force has the heavy-duty, highly-trained personnel to handle **** normal police forces can't. In this instance, we introduce the Shocktroopers.
@ x56erx
Realistically now, in the CP's defense; they are essentially street cops. I feel that the changes Jokers implementing are just right - without risking the loss of why we love them ( and their role ) in the first place. Call me nostalgic.
I like the sound of the CP Shock-trooper, maybe you could give them a new gas mask design and add slightly more thicker armour to their chest?
They look like they're wearing skirts.
They are. That's why they are called trenchcoats.
It just makes them look girly compared to the normal design. If they were more open in the front, with visible legs then it would look less like they're wearing dresses.
watch the matrix and then call it girly
They look cool, but the thing is that it looks like a skirt. the top should be open or look a little different.
Idea = good.
Dresses = not good.
