Hi, I'm SysOp, Main Proyect Leader.
We are making an Open Source project called Arrangement™ (based on Half-Life 1 Engine)
which contains a few Spirit Of Half-Life's features.
Arrangement™ is a Single player FPS game that focus hard on gameplay, game's story and level's inmersion. Following that, we have changed everything we can to be sure the player can feel what we really want. Play with player's emotions it's a hard task so, we spend a lot of time finding out details to achieve that.
Arrangement™ is an Open Source project. You can get anything we have created for this mod for your own needs. We focus on sharing and I like to help everyone in anyway I can.
Arrangement™ is a mix of action/horror/rpg/puzzle games. That's why the player would laugh, get angry, sad or jump off. Player can gain experience points which can be changed for get new abilities. Every single detail is planned following game design documents and game's story line.
Arrangement™ is mapping friendly. Level desing is the most important piece in a game to my concern. That's why we have changed a lot Hammer's using to give you a new intuitive and faster mapping. Also, every feature we use is easy and most of them can be tested in-game.
Arrangement™ is a realistic game. Every weapon works as it should and your enemies act as they should too. AI methods has been improved a lot to give the player a really good challengue before kill anyone.
Arrangement™ is an old school game. Following big games hits each mission contains a few levels -> each level contains a start, a few encounters and a end -> last level's mission contain a boss and a overall. That guarantee the player have fun no matter what. Also, each missions follows a storyline in where the player can decide his path sometimes, giving up more than a single ending.
Arrangement™ is an eye candy game. We didn't forget we are in 2008... so, a simple mod that looks like Wolfestein 3D wouldn't be enough for you. That means lighting, archiquecture, effects and world's environment has been improved a lot, to give them a new realistic look.
Arrangement™ is the game you expected.

We are working hard to finish as soon as possible the lastest demo. It includes everything you saw before.
All we need to do is modify a few maps, add some speching and narrative sequences and that's all!
This is the way I say 'thanks' for all you support guys!

What's the Framerate like. Paranoia had a really low framerate
I say that because i think that my Geforce 8500 should be able to handle anything that the GoldSource engine can throw at me.

there will be horror parts?
with monsters or zombies?
This is a total conversion WITHOUT any zombies or weird monsters. We don't need to use zombies for get the player afraid.

lol zombies... zombies are about as scary as incontinent old people. Zombies don't = fear >:(
Not knowing where an enemy soldier is can induce far more fear, if the soldier can drop you at the tip of a hat.
Actually is not zombies what you are afraid of. There are a lot of elements to make the player feels afraid.
These keys is what we will use. The fear of the unknow, the fear of the unsuspected, the feeling of don't know what's next... Also, sounds, colors , shapes... these help out a lot... We are using that as the basis for get the player afraid.
Today I see a lot of mods that use zombies for scary the player... Guys... that doesn't work... no more.
Of course a zombie could be a thing that may scary you out... but it's like... it's bad used.
Pfeh, good luck makin' me scared...
Real life beats any game ever made so huff.
