Hi, I'm SysOp, Main Proyect Leader.
We are making an Open Source project called Arrangement™ (based on Half-Life 1 Engine)
which contains a few Spirit Of Half-Life's features.
Arrangement™ is a Single player FPS game that focus hard on gameplay, game's story and level's inmersion. Following that, we have changed everything we can to be sure the player can feel what we really want. Play with player's emotions it's a hard task so, we spend a lot of time finding out details to achieve that.
Arrangement™ is an Open Source project. You can get anything we have created for this mod for your own needs. We focus on sharing and I like to help everyone in anyway I can.
Arrangement™ is a mix of action/horror/rpg/puzzle games. That's why the player would laugh, get angry, sad or jump off. Player can gain experience points which can be changed for get new abilities. Every single detail is planned following game design documents and game's story line.
Arrangement™ is mapping friendly. Level desing is the most important piece in a game to my concern. That's why we have changed a lot Hammer's using to give you a new intuitive and faster mapping. Also, every feature we use is easy and most of them can be tested in-game.
Arrangement™ is a realistic game. Every weapon works as it should and your enemies act as they should too. AI methods has been improved a lot to give the player a really good challengue before kill anyone.
Arrangement™ is an old school game. Following big games hits each mission contains a few levels -> each level contains a start, a few encounters and a end -> last level's mission contain a boss and a overall. That guarantee the player have fun no matter what. Also, each missions follows a storyline in where the player can decide his path sometimes, giving up more than a single ending.
Arrangement™ is an eye candy game. We didn't forget we are in 2008... so, a simple mod that looks like Wolfestein 3D wouldn't be enough for you. That means lighting, archiquecture, effects and world's environment has been improved a lot, to give them a new realistic look.
Arrangement™ is the game you expected.

A few months ago I started to feel bad randomly without any explanation. Well, to be honest I love the candies (I brought a few today ^^). I thought that was the reason of all my synptoms, so, I put away those sweet things praying for feel better. Nothing happened and I was getting worst. Stomachaches and some random aches wasn't enough: my limb started to fail. So, finnally, I called my doctor. After a few checks (a very invasive ones ¬¬) he told me I get a disease called "Dyspepsia".
Well, to make it shorter, he gave me a description and a few pills which I had to take for a few weeks. One more time... wans't enough: the synptoms didn't dissappear and I was getting worst and worst...
So, I've changed my doctor who gave me another pills and a few days for rest and he told me that I had to take a breath. Finally, after a few months I can say Im totally healed thanks to my Lord (hey... Im kidding ^^)
Okay, Im writting that story to make a movie with... :P but in the meanwhile I remember I had a nice project. I go back and check what I need to do as... well... game/level designer, programmer, 3D/2D artist and so on... That's the reason why you're seeing a nice pic up there... Maybe you wonder what it is... me too... so... I'll let you guess what Im trying to show there. I can't say I did that myself: BUzer and Highlander takes the credits for that.
That's all. I need to go back to work.

this is awesome! You now got realistic shadows ...and is the flashlight beam projected or is it like from Rebirth?? I love the ironsights and the decent hand movement! Keep up the good work!

The flashlight it's the same used on Rebirth. I'll change it.
BTW the shadows now detect lights instead of lightmaps! Check it!: Am.half-lifecreations.com
oh, i forgot to mention, umm do you do the ironsights like in paranoia, with anims in the model and just zoom the camera. or do you just make the "v" model move to the center? Just wondering... :P
For now we move the origin from v_ models.

ummm, its me...AGAIN, i got a tip for you... if you're making a mod, you won't want to make anyone get angry or jump off their chair and stomp away cursing under their breath (if that's what you meant by "jump off"). Try to make the game challenging -but fun and entertaining at the same time. I, myself have a hard time doing that with my mods sometimes sadly... but your mod will probably make all my mods look like shisit so i dont worry about that too much... :P
PS:If you're going to give your mod leaning thingies, you may want to tilt the camera a bit in the way you're leaning...
PSS:Is this an opengl only mod?
Well... I was talking about player's 'emotions'. Jump off means: "Oh, WTF was that!!"
Of course there are some situations that are scary and you may jump off... but are just only a few special cases. What would be scary, funny or... whatever, for the player, is related to mod's gameplay.
Also, I know what you are talking about. Being scary all the times isn't funny, it's annoying... really annoying. Although it must be hard to achieve, it could be a bad option as well. You need to do it slow: struggle it, release it, struggle it, release it... That's better that being scary every single time.
Leaning it's... complex. For now it's used for take a look around the corner. If we use real movements for the player we need to do it for NPC characters too... and... that's seriously hard :P (well, not hard but it may take a lot of time)
Another rendering devices are supported... but are buggy at the moment. It's developed for OpenGL ^^
I hope it will be my second most favorite Multiplayer MOD of HL...
By the way, my NO.1 is Firearms:P

Podria ayudarte si me dices de que tipo son los problemas que dices. En el segundo modo de bloom puede optarse por una opcion que no usa shaders. El bump mapping esta desactivado. El render es el mismo del HL :P

Se, personalmente me agradan mucho las ragdolls tambien ^^ Mi hermanito juega al HL con Rebirth... y... es genial. Le gusta la MP5 y ir matando grunts por ahi :P
Unir dos mods es... improbable. Podria hacerse si el codigo del HL FX estuviese abierto pero no es algo que tengamos pensado hacer por el momento.
Respecto a las sombras ya tenemos unas basadas en el buffer stencil del OpenGL... y se ven geniales!
