You have been sent alone, to a warm desert planet for a commando mission of high risk. Your goal, as an elite soldier, is to infiltrate the abandoned human complex to perform vital maintenance tasks and to recover precious scientific research facility data. J'ai pas remarqué tout de suite l'absurdité du nom du mod (Le sens que le développeur donne à "complex" n'existe pas en anglais) et pourtant j'aurais du car tout est au même niveau ou presque. Dépourvu de sens. L'introduction vaut son poids en cacahuètes: La trame est extremement élaboré, on est un soldat (enfin je crois) envoyé sur une planète pour liquider des aliens. Wow, quelle inspiration et le tout dans un anglais lamentable, le moddeur doit être étranger ou alors en primaire. Pour le reste du jeu (que j'ai fini , par masochisme) j'ai regretté de ne pas avoir de lunettes de soleil tellement l'HDR est configuré avec les pieds. Ajoutons les sons des armes saturés et au choix douteux, les obstacles à la logique débile et bien sûr l'exploitation de bugs pour finir le jeu, comme c'est bien de profiter de l'amateurisme d'un soi-disant moddeur pour terminer son mod. Pour achever cette critique, je met 1, pas parce que que le jeu le mérite mais parce que j'ai eu beau chercher, pas moyen de mettre des notes négatives. Où est le napalm ?

Mod doesn't present any sort of interesting techniques that actually give the player hints to what to do. Directions and instructions are so bland and vague that it just leaves the player hanging. "Complex"? What do you mean by "Complex"? Players can only depict so much. I was thinking of giving a 6/10 but with such cryptic BS, it doesn't even last a 2/10 in my perspective. Glitches that prevent you from advancing, fustrating combat with endless waves of Antlions are the least of the worries that lie in this limbo of a mod. It's not a terrible mod but it could have definitely been fixed to actually be a decent challenge. For example, too many antlions come for you to even block off the antlion passages. This causes fustration for the player and I just find that incredibly redundant and repetitive. If you're going to create a mod of a decent challenge, at least provide more clear hints, a decent amount of enemies to kill (That do NOT come in numbers of 20 per wave) and a smaller travel map. (Unless there is actually something worth looking at or towards your benefit. (Windows showing bland and uninteresting rooms do not count)

I usually don't even rate mods, but this one needed to be given a 1/10; it's that bad.

The good:
The desert environment is a nice change from the post-apocalyptic eastern-Europe of most mods.

The bad:
The head bobbing is ridiculously exaggerated. Bobble heads don't bounce that much.
Every time the player encounters antlions, there are always far too many of them. When the player is forced to enter a small room where there are over forty antlions at the same time, you're doing something wrong.
Although the player is occasionally prompted with directions on where to go with some on-screen text, it frequently shows up in the middle of a firefight with several dozen antlions making the player miss the text and leaving them to wander around the map until they accidentally stumble upon their next objective.
Other than the above mentioned on-screen text, the mod lacks nearly any kind of signposting for the player which causes a lot of "what am I supposed to do now?" moments.
Some doors open with a switch like in Half-Life 2, others have no switches but open when the player uses them, and then there's one door that does neither, but has to be attacked and broken open, although the player is given no prompting to do so.
The combine assault rifle skin is used for some type of lightning gun that is semi-automatic instead of its normal automatic fire. That caused more than a little confusion when I first tried to use it.
When the player has to destroy the antlion food at the end of the mod, they are given no indication what said food looks like and are expected to randomly shoot piles of what looks like sand to figure it out.
The mod lacks any story besides "go here, flip this switch, kill those enemies".
One of the first abnormal bits the player experiences is having to blow up some metal railings that block a path with a grenade instead of just breaking some wooden planks. This goes against what the player has learned in Half-Life 2 (metal is unaffected by grenades)

Mod looked good, and the first 5 minutes were plenty of fun, then the tram fell into the ocean and I spent nearly a half an hour trying to figure out where to go from there with no avail, eventually ragequitting.

Graphismes : 02/20

Si certaines textures sont convenables, la plupart se montreront tout juste moyennes voir mauvaises. Le moteur Source Engine est très mal exploité, on croirait voir Half-Life (1998) dans certaines scènes. Quant aux effets, on y retrouve les classiques qui sont proposés dans Half-Life 2.

Jouabilité : 05/20

Le gameplay reste basique, presque totalement similaire. Le tout reste assez répétitif hélas.

Durée de vie : 06/20

Il vous faudra environ trente minutes pour parvenir à la fin de Ground Complex. Tout juste potable pour un mod en version complète.

Bande son : 05/20

Les musiques sont pour la plupart convenables mais elles proviennent de Half-Life 2 : Episode 2, cependant les sons en générale manquent cruellement de qualité et de nouveauté. A noter que les voix et les textes sont en anglais.

Scénario : 04/20

L'histoire de Ground Complex n'a rien d'original et ressemble vraisemblablement à pas grand chose hélas..

Note Générale : 04/20

Ground Complex cherchait à offrir quelque chose de nouveau, cependant il le cherche toujours.. Il se contente finalement d'un trop nombre de défaut, autant en termes de structure et de jouabilité que de réalisation. Peut-être une version revue et corrigé dans les prochains jours corrigera le tir..
