GRIM AGE: Skirmish - a multiplayer mod for Mount & Blade Warband, based on the universe of Warhammer Fantasy Battles, which allows players to take part in the battles between: The hordes of Chaos (represented by the minions of the Dark Gods of Chaos, Khorne and Nurgle). The armies of the Empire (represented by defenders of Ostland). And the troops of Kislev (in development).

Description of faction's armies:

Chaos
Ruthless northern warriors who worship the forces of chaos and destruction. The bulk of the troops form the Marauders of Chaos - mid-armored footmen. Elite is considered by Warriors, Knights and Champions of Chaos - heavily armored fighters that make up the backbone of the attacking warbands. There is also the light cavalry units - Raiders of Chaos - take place.

Empire
Ostland State Troops are medium-armored soldiers, armed mostly with pikes, halberds, swords, crossbows and muskets. The role of the cavalry perform numerous forces of heavily armored knights.

Kislev
In the battles Kislev is based on numerous cavalry - Winged Lancers and Ungol Horse Archers. Kislev infantry as mobile and versatile - Kossars are both archers and footmen.

Game Modes:
1. The Siege.
The small imperial town was attacked by warband of Chaos Marauders, which are planning to break barricades and cut out all of its inhabitants. Imperial soldiers have an access to bonus weapons and armor. Respawn of Chaos players is limited, respawn of Imperial players is infinite.

2. Necromancer's Attack.
Players must protect an imperial village from huge waves of the undead, that became stronger every next wave, minor-bosses and the final boss - the necromancer. Defenders have a chance to pick up bonus weapons and ammunition after every attack.

3. Ambush.
A gang of Marauders and Raiders of Chaos assaulting the Imperial troops, which is going through the forest. The main task of Imperials - to support the Imperial Captain survive and bring him to the end of road.

4. Battle.
Common Deathmatch side to side with some bonus weapons and ammunition for killed enemies.

5. Duel.Chance to decide who is better.

New dialogs and how rank system inflluences gameplay.

Dialogs. First of all it concerns "greetings" of different groups of units. Having no neutral units (hostile to everyone), with exception of skeletons, bandits and wandering champions, the reaction of different warbands will depend on faction the player belongs to, for example:Chaos player meeting raiders:

Rank defines in what way wandering groups greet player, but that's not all. The higher player's rank the more features available in general, including unique options in dialogs. For example, Chaos player with the highrest rank will be able to join wandering zealots to his party without any limitations, which will allow him to use them as cannon fodder during sieges etc.

Another partially done feature - additional rank "Coward" for chaos player. It's main purpose is to make player's life much harder, for cowards are not to be respected by anybody. Lords will deny speaking to coward, and wandering groups will laught at him. There're some obvious ways to become a coward, like refuse to duel with anybody or flee from a battlefield.

Duels and afterlife.

Duels. Simple as it is - you can challenge every enemy lord for a duel. Providing you won and your opponent's party morale waslow enough, you can decide what to do with his army, e.g. let them go or fight them (in this case they get a severe morale debuff). For every duel won player gets quarter of his opponent renown.

If opponent's party morale is high you'll have fight them anyway, but the morale debuff won't be absent.

If you die in a duel (or in a battle or somewhere else) you'll transform in a a skeleton. At first it won't be the most intresting feature of the mod as skeleton won't be able to visit cities\villages\castles, talk to lords and do other stuff people do, but with further development it gives a great possibility to add third quest line for undead player. But for now undead player will be able to join wandering skeleton parties to his army and plunder stuff.

I'd also like to levy some criticisms I have about the mod.
Warriors of chaos are too ******* slow. The deadliest trained warriors in the whole of the old world, imbued with the power of the darkgods are slower swinging a sword than a human is with a giant 2 handed weapon, like, what? All the chaos weapons are slow as an ogre's brain function except for the berserker, and he can't block so he's pretty useless.

Chaos equipment is too expensive it's ridiculous. With 1000 gold I can buy a tier 2 sword on a marauder, where as an empire player can kit out their greatswords with decent weapons, which is just annoying.

Chaos get chaos champions for free. What the hell? I can take an armour 85 class with 3 shields and a hand weapon that does 60 damage for free? ******* sure I'll take it.

what should be happening is the Higher end Warrior classes should not have that good equipment for free, and the marauders should have reduced prices.

Also, the server is unplayable with the low population the mod has. A battle server with 2-4 people? So fun! The game-mode NEEDS to be changed to TDM or give us the ability to vote for bots so we can actually get some enjoyment out of it.

It's the morale system. You must have noticed it's counter above your health bar. It still needs to be tweaked, but yes, that's how it works. Your characyer looses morale - your character starts running.

Well, It's all about balance, you see:

CWs are faster than Greatswords, btw. If they were faster, they would be too imba.

You see, there're class availability limits. While marauders have 60% per team availability, Greatswords have 10%. See the difference? The same is true for Champion, except he can be only one per team.

Unfortunately, low player base is not my fault, because not everyone can play at the same time. Hopefully we'll get TDM working by the next patch.

Ok, i'm having the exact same problem i've been having with Warsword, and its only the Warhammer mods for some reason. I can't seem to inflict damage on certain enemies, and sometimes none at all, my allies(AI) seem to suffer the same problem. Also I would like to note that chaos are seemingly OP, chaos warriors are one hit kills, and the fact I can't even damage them makes it impossible. To be fair, i've yet to try the other side. Otherwise, i'm liking the textures I must say, much better than what Warsword offers.

You mean, you can't hit them because they're simply bugged, or because you use wrong weapon? You see, weapons with cut damage are absolutely incapable of penetrating armor. Try to use pierce and blunt weapons.

Hmm, I can understand why that would be the case, but that kind of leaves the empire handicapped then, because they seem to be without such traits.

All halberds, spears, greatswords, some bastard swords have pierce damage. All firearms have blunt damage, for example.

No, it's possible to kill champion with a 1000 hflberd, for example. Spears deal nice damage, too. But handguns are surely the hardest counter to Chaos heavies.
