Grey’s life has been nothing but a struggle. A constant downward spiral, and it seems even reality has turned against him. Grey awakens to find that the world has gone quiet, the streets empty. You must find help. Explore the grim world Grey lives in a completely new and unique world, and find clues to his shattered past. Grey is a total conversion Half-Life 2 horror modification where the player must solve puzzles, fight to survive, and find out what is happening to the world around you. We have made a lot changes to the base Source engine and have added countless new mechanics in the mod such as the objective indicator, portable medkit, donator based extras, pickup animations, failed reloads, new picture based GUI elements and much, much more!
Just some brush and lighting, but it gives you the mood.
I think lighting is too bright and accurate for with place...
Only thing I don't like is the floor texture, and how the walls aren't that detailed, could add some pipes in there maybe?
Thats what makes it even more scary :3
Actually, the massive amounts of pipes that cut right through all the maps in HL2 and all the mods always bothers me. Most pipes in buildings are within the walls.
Yea, I think its fine. Simplicity always makes a better stand against the pipes on the ceiling, pipes under a grate on the floor spanning the length of the hallway, pipes a bit higher than head level going around corners.
yes you can see how the floor tiles are repeating but wall is ok..
Well pipes are on the walls mostly on old buildings where they had to do the pipes after building...
If you tone down the brightness of the sprite/where the light is, I think you have a winner here! Its simplistic nature adds to the atmosphere, because we all know you CAN make very detailed maps.
This corridor is for suggest the player the only way is forward, thats why its quite long and empty without doors and windows. When i dreaming about something i always remember only symbols from these places and rooms, like very long corridors, black ceiling, blinding lamps. Thats why i dont give many little details to that corridor, its like an incomplete memory.
I love it ! With your dream analogy of an area like this, the minimalist approach makes perfect sense. Once again Ashkandi, fantastic work !
Yeah, definitely agree with the dream comparison. It's true, I've had dreams of long hallways that looked only somewhat detailed like this. Excellent work, though I certainly hope that the lights at the end of the hall flicker or something.
The lighting is good, but you could make it a bit darker between each light source. Also, fantastic textures!
By the way, who played F.E.A.R. (first) and its' original modifications:
remember the situation when you(player) in hospital(or something like that for psychos) you go by the corridor(it's little wider than this, on this picture) and then you stucked(Idk, how is correct)! So you turn around and you in another place!! More scary and now with blood! Like the other side of this...the dark side...
(Trying to help you with some interesting ideas, atmosphere, etc)
Hope it help, sorry for bad English
I can see the lights going out and me running like hell.
Good Job
I can see lights going out and me thinking "Well, this is an old building. Outages would be common place." Then the lights turn back on and I see the clown in your avatar and I **** myself and run crying like a little girl. I can see that happening.
he'll eat your face.
Don't run, just sit down in a bright corner, keep screaming and starve to the death. Running is not safe. :(
* chuckle *
looks good but floor texture looks a but stretched
The camera field of view is 110 here, thats why looks stretched.
i think its fine the way it is, i for once would like to walk in a hall-way with some lighting. i bet there are too much scary event during the game already.
It lacks props.
i like these hallways :)
it makes me all cold and scared inside
and then i just love the part when all lights go out and big screams or noises comes and i automaticly quit the game and go hide in the corner
lovely <3
This reminds me of one of those insperation posters with the a hallway and at the bottom it says "When you see it you'll **** bricks."
