GoldenEye: Source is a total conversion modification of Half-Life 2. It is a fan made recreation, released for free, with only one goal in mind; to bring the memories and experiences from the original GoldenEye64 back to life using Source Technology. We want you to look at this mod and remember the first best multiplayer first-person shooter ever made. We are doing our best to bring in the opinions of the community to create a game that everyone is going to enjoy. But, we are not here to recreate the game exactly how it was in GE64, a lot of things have changed since they first designed that game, mainly in technology and gamers experiences. We are here to take the game even further but at the same time provide a lot of those fun elements that hardcore GE64 fans will enjoy. We've got experienced team members all across the board, from professional level, to amateurs looking to make it into the business working hard to make this dream a reality.

Very fun, very addictive pick up and play gameplay. While it lacks the depth of modern shooters, its variety, quality and attention to detail surpasses many of todays shooters. I have to say that i disagree with putting 20 bullets to a headshot, but thats my only gripe. This team has faithfully recreated some amazing gameplay from my childhood. If they were to port the single player over as well as the multi, i'd easily toss 30 bucks at them for copies for myself, my girlfriend and maybe a few gamer buddies. I wish they would work something out where they could bring it to Steam. Now that there's bots, something i've been waiting for for a long time, i'll be playing this regularly.

I freaking LOVE this mod. It brings back the classic GoldenEye feel, yet accomplishing new things with the advanced physics of Source. I really wanted to buy the Wii Remake of GoldenEye 64, but I bought Skyward Sword instead (which is also awesome) so I looked up this mod to try it out. I tried it out, and LOVED it. The developer team should really consider releasing this as a full game on Steam. I would easily pay $10 for it. It has so much content already in it (especially since it's just a mod) that it would be a best-seller on Steam. If they put it on Steam, people might notice it more. The one and only problem with this mod is the small player base. It's quite hard to find servers with actual people playing in them. Hopefully, when update 4.2 comes out, people will have a renewed interest in it, but the thing that would really spark a fire is if they distribute this on Steam. This mod is the best Source Mod I've ever played, and you should already be downloading it. GO!

Best remake of the N64 classic, even with all of these million dollar commercial games claiming to be remakes (that suck) this 1 is FREE and 10x better and more true to the original "feel" of the N64 version that started it all. Love this mod, it's amazing.

This mod is by far the best remake of Goldeneye to date. Much better and cheaper (FREE!) than the version Activision released in 2010 on the Wii.
