GoldenEye: Source is a total conversion modification of Half-Life 2. It is a fan made artistic recreation, released for free, with only one goal in mind; to bring the memories and experiences from the original GoldenEye64 back to life using Source' Orange Box Technology.
We want you to look at this mod and remember the first best multiplayer first-person shooter ever made. We are doing our best to bring in the opinions of the community to create a game that everyone is going to enjoy. But, we are not here to recreate the game exactly how it was in GE64. A lot of things have changed since they first designed the original, mainly in technology and gamers experiences. We are here to take the game even further but at the same time provide a lot of those fun elements that hardcore GE64 fans will enjoy. We've got experienced team members all across the board, from professional level, to amateurs looking to make it into the business working hard to make this dream a reality.
We focus on a daily basis to keep the original feel for the game that we all know and love. Adding new and fun game play features is our secondary mission, along with new maps and weapons that will keep the game feeling new. We do this by getting together with all of our development team, and asking ourselves "What are the things we always wanted to see and do?". This question has come up alot, and we think we are creating and implementing interesting ideas into the mod for fans and gamers to enjoy!

Despite the success of the mod it is with a heavy heart that we say good bye to Nickster our GoldenEye Source mod leader. He passed away on May 24, 2006, at his home at the age of 27. We as a mod team hereby dedicate this mod fully to Nickster. Tragically his life ended too soon and we as a team wish his family and relatives the best of luck after this difficult period. He would want us to continue on no matter what the costs and we sincerely hope he is in a better place. This mod is for you Nickster, from the GoldenEYE: Source team.

Dynamic level changes are a brand new addition to Runway. Barrier doors on both sides open to the lower portions of runway if certain criteria are met. a) Teamplay is enabled always opens doors, regardless of # of players in game. b) Players in server is equal to or greater than 10. New visuals, textures, models (pipe system), crate models are prominent. Many layout changes are prevalent in CCsaint's updated Runway, as well as the advent of fog to make long distance shooting much harder.
E-S and Saint have worked together on weapon spawns, player spawns, token spawns, and all gameplay elements - to bring in line with our other maps for 4.2. Finally and in one breath.. New Facility exit to the runway, New side security entrance, New fuel hanger which connects sniper tower area to hanger, Revised layout on the runway with added cover, Tank added, Shortened runway to extend pit and remove the "death center", Redone sniper tower to look like goldeneye, The center is now COMPLETELY avoidable, Mountains look more realistic, Optimized map, and all Lighting revised!

Goldeneye Source offers simple and good old classic deathmatch action. No complicate new mechanics, no specific movement possibilities with which you can outmanoveur your enemy, no adjustable or unlockable weapons, pure Deathmatch. Players who like the n64 goldeneye or games like Timesplitters will love this one! Only things that might be not the best for this mod are that making out if the guy you just've seen is on your team or not, and that the simplicity can also be a bit boring, as the player…

I don't remember nova prospect having orange walls either ;)
They are simply dev textures used when making maps.
As for the sky temple will be having a face lift and change of theme but will remain the same map kind of how they did with CS:s
whats with the maps, cradle doesnt have bright orange in it, and you need to look at the skys in bond, cause temple if i remember correctly has a dark sky, and the lighting in it is darker
Hello fans,
PerfectH here to bring you a brief update on the production status. As of currently, we are almost done modelling all the weapons (not including skinning, animation, etc...), and the maps are turning out terrificly!
We've been hoping to open this mod (for multiplayer anyways) for Open Beta by sometime this June, but I have a feeling it maybe even sooner, but don't get your hopes up folks.
We really apprecitate everyone who has been supporting this mod and we ask you to keep supporting. We know this mod will be a big success if our fans continue to help us grow by checking out our website (see link above in profile) and by clicking the link at the bottom of this comment.

Why don't the two Goldeneye mods for HL2 merge? and combine tallent to make one great mod, 00 Agent Moddb.com and Goldeneye source Moddb.com could combine. basically everything would be kept, just change the name or somthing and merge. your both trying to produce the same thing, and it would work out better doing it together where it can all be managed, and co-ordinated. Plus there would be more mappers more textures, more coders. Just an idea.
looks bloody nice, that other golden eye mod had diffrent weapons... not true to the game, and just called them the game names, stupid.
I'd like to help anyway i can, but i can't model or skin for my life so yeah. i'll spread the word.
Keep up the great work, this will be one of the best mods ever. Maybe when you make a beta, just include like 8 weapons and a few levels, and when things become more avalible add more levels and guns, and models.
