GoldenEye: 00 Heaven is a total conversion for Crysis;

:: Important Disclaimer ::
This project views our mod as a work of art tribute to the much loved original game by Rare. No Intellectual properly harm is intended. We are completely non-profit and offer the content we make into goldeneye 100% downloadable of course, in form of this free mod.

Crytek extend their community the right to modify their game, Crysis, using the Cryengine2 developer engine ; which they also provide technical support through Crymod.com However they have no link whatsoever, and no official consent to the project or the directors that manage its running.

:: Our Goal? ::
Completely recreate the single-player and multi-player portions of the classic, goldeneye 007, but on next-generation PC technology. Once all of the huge list of original old elements are done, we will move to making extra content for each portion of the mod to give you something you never thought you'd have, or perhaps always wanted.

It will have a release structure of SP ---> MP ----> overall polish + bonus (if team members dont disperse too much)

:: First focus ::
is SP, each mission will be released one by one - the idea being that with all skill modes of play, and time attack coupled with new elements such as co-op by us (not including the 3rd party community able to achieve these gametypes with scripting) will be fair replay value for these mission increments as they come. We estimate these release gaps will be around 2 months. If development takes off however, (not saying it will of course) we will consider 2-map releases based on the general "mission" parameter established in the original.

:: Current phase::
Is for extending our team
(if interested sign up and apply with your skills, the earlier the better, we are in need of some dept. leader level modders foremost) and starting art works, as the engine tools like SDK will not be available for maybe months on cryengine2! Level design can start and assets can go in-game thanks to the innovative sandbox2 editor. We are developing our pipeline for cryengine2 to help new developers to our team find their place and excell in their asset production. Here is a little list of what is in store :

Expect by the end of release plan :

  • All single player missions
  • All multiplayer and single-player maps
  • All the weapons and gadgets from the original
  • All multiplayer game-modes
  • Extra multiplayer game-modes for more online replay (latter patches)
  • "All bonds" character bonus (final patches)
  • All the cheat options (as they appear in original for time attack)
  • The signature Ooo's and Ahh voiced get hit sounds
  • The ricochets and mimmicking sound effects throughout game

There is much more detail into the theory stage of this modification coming to the revised site so check it out (coming soon), and some hints will come in the forum as it gets some further members and development.

Thanks for the comment and for the watch ;)

Just to inform, im still alive as is the project. The reason i havent put more help wanted is because im waiting on a house move that is imminent yet delayed every damn week... so no point doing hardcore recruiting when my schedule is this flakey.

Ill be fully back asap and into this bigtime.

I wasn't trying to be rude either, we have some debate space, and this is chance to beef the reasons to get behind us ;)

This is simply the logic of a fan wanting his favourite game to live on and seeing great opportunity in the new engines (fully realising having seen GE:S's accumulative fan base that many feel the same and wouldnt want GE memories relived to end anytime soon).

Given their record of taking 2.5 years to release 1 and a half patches (the last of which many agree failed to deliver stability completely, or to impress in anything other than their few asset additions and a few levels) without also the promise of a single-player in its future. You should look into it, it clearly states they "may" do the SP portion. I shouldnt comment further on their journey because it wouldnt be right at all, having been inside that team to have known it - i left on respectful terms, and i love those guys as people. I honestly do wish them success.
............
Right there about the SP/MP topic, is almost all the incentive I think people will need in realizing this mod has a target which people will really like, no matter how GE:S does - the more GE the better! We are going more toward SP priority than anything, with MP being a by-product, just as the original Rare production was structured.

The way i see it, at the time of GE007, MP was really a new element in FPS on n64, so their was no competition, it was really fresh and everyone fell in love with the MP fun among friends.

What fomer recreations have tried to do, is focus on this and make deathmatch goldeneye first, in essence.

problem arise because this is all different, that is supposed to be more appealing than the other 50+ popular FPS MP games on the PC market with a varying range of modern modes and gameplay? That basis breaks down pretty fast unless you have the true success and buzz of a project like insurgency has.
.........
Putting this project on crysis or UE3 takes away a lot of competition from other mods (when compared to HL2's ratio), because we are at the start, makes us stand out more if we get ahead, and simply will be a complete game on a new engine for a longer period of time. Goldeneye fans are our prime target, but of course we want younger audiences getting these flash new games to discover the experience of goldenye the complete way, as I and many others did in our teens.

if you wanna debate some more :P how about we do it via email, might be more suitable

I see you point completely , but the engine isnt everything, both games have fundamentally the game gameplay dynamics , to use the donky kong analogy , I would say that copying a SNES game on the N64 IS stupid , they arnt competing with the original and they arnt trying to pay homage to the original , the only reason why this happens is so the developers can stretch the franchise to make more money. However games like Donky konga are GOOD branches of the franchise and its thing kind of thing i think you should be aiming for.

With Goldeneye Source being so far along , Steam being a huge Delivery platform and the source engine being a much more computer friendly ( admittedly older ) engine id like to know what your going to do to attract the people that will already be playing Goldeneye source by the time this version is even in a Alpha stage.

Im not wanting to sound rude or anything , and im sorry if i come across as that , im studying games development at university and as you can guess this is a hot topic of discussion.

- I like the possibility of extra things , but this has already been done , and done amazingly well by the Goldeneye Source team. Is it really going to be worth competing with a team and mod so far along in their development ?

Sorry good sir, right in the first line is stated exactly that the decision isnt made yet, yes it indeed could switch.

Your claim however dumbfounds me a bit, as to say goldeneye isnt exterior at least 40% in the original and that we wouldnt pursue something at least 50% of beautiful outdoor environments in a next-gen mod is outstandingly amazing. You played GE007 right?

Streets, depot, dam, cradle, surface, jungle...the potential list of recreating those outdoor environments amazingly goes on.

Im simply assuming you favor your talent or liking in UE3, and that has cornered your opinion into ignorance.

Why on Earth are you using a sandbox editor on a mostly interior game.

Seriously, switch to UE3 it's much more suited for what your trying to achieve.
