Hello! No models to show right now, instead i'd like to talk to you about the music for this mod.
First off, it's made by me! KittyKitsune, and I am the newest member working on this mod.
I am the composer and possibly will also be making sound effects and work on voice over later on.

Now for the music

The musical goal for Golden Age of War is to have at least 19 original tunes, same as in Empire at War : FOC.
Now obviously, if I could have an austrian philharmonic orchestra play the music that would be lovely, but since we are working for free that is somewhat unlikely to happen. Instead I am making the music using a virtual studio, my two beautiful keyboards, and a lots of VSTi (Virtual Studio Technology Instruments).

The music for Golden Age of War will be a bit more varied than in Empire at War, it won't all be strings and brass. Why?
Well, this part of star wars takes place a long time before the movies, and the lines here are not as clearly defined as in the movies, this is more ambiguous. The original star wars theme is iconic and classic, but it tells a different story, one of a hero fighting the established power.
But in our time, it's an enemy unknown that engage in a brutal war.

The sound track is suppose to reflect the uncertainty, and the shock of the encounter with the sith war machine, it is a force that is creeping across the galaxy conquering in it's path.

The idea is then: Golden Age of War will feature a mix of Techno music, ambient music, Metallic sounds and Symphonic tunes as well. Those of you who have listened to the Sith Theme should know how that the symphonic orchestras work together with the electronic sounding components to create a sense of disturbance. It doesn't sound "nice" and it isn't suppose to.

Now I understand that many wish for music like Knight of the Old Republic or from other star wars titles. I can't promise anything, but if something works with an RTS I will give it a listen and maybe be inspired, so if you have something very inspiring let me know in a comment, and maybe it will influence some of the future tunes. Currently there are 7 completed tunes, so still a lot to work on, and the tunes may also change over time.

Well that's enough about the theory behind this, it's easy to get lost in a wall of text.
Today I am giving you 2 new tunes to listen to. The Main Theme, which you will probably realise has many similarities with the Sith theme, and will also have similarities with the Republic theme when it is done.
And also what might be a Ground Combat Theme, provided that Mr. Kharkov gives his final approval of it in the end.

Probably school/life getting in the way, I would imagine, it has a nasty habit of doing that. Just as long as you don't go on "business leave" and disappear from the face of the earth (without letting the rest of your team continue making the mod), I'm happy.

No offence, the music is great, but I think you should re-think it a bit since it doesn't sound very star wars like. Just listen to some star wars tracks (Try KOTOR because that's a bit more the style you appear to be going for). Most just need a bit of editing (excluding shadows of the asteroids and immortal) but I think breaking orbit needs more reworking. Again though I like the style your going for with the main theme. I hope to see you working on this again soon.

Just a quick note I'm just saying add it in the background mainly to give the star wars feel but then keep your own feel as the focus of the tune.

I'm staying away from traditional starwars type music as the time period that I'm working with has very little in common with the rest of starwars, also most of what will be in the mod is more or less original.I expect to have 30+ tracks in the mod, so don't be surprise if a few make it in.

I know what you mean but it would be nice to have it have just a bit of that feel. I don't think the music should be too far from star wars since although since kotor is about 4000 years bby yet keeps the music style and the great hyperspace war is only 1000 years before that so I think it should keep the style somewhat. I understand though that this era is quite different so deserves it's own style as well. Just a quick question, are you gonna make a campaign for it?

Yes, it is possible that I will make a campaign. First priority is GC and getting that working right. There is a good chance that there will be multiple campaigns, that closely follow the story of the Hyperspace war.
