At least not full price, hopefully you'll keep a clean version around for those stalkers who like shiny new toys. Or you could have different textures showing a gradual degrading of the item as the durability (health) of item diminishes. Hope this helps :)

Or you can make it faction/ location specific for example: Clear Sky, Bandits, Duty guys in Red Forest, Trapped military guys in Army warehouses and so on would have everything dirty and rusty in their bases/ camps.
And on the other hand Military in Cordon, Scientists, Elite Stalkers..etc. would have everything clean and shiny in their bases/ camps ( Because they have a lot of money, sources, etc. in outside world... maybe I am not sure :D )

New project started on new year morning... After a long talk with my father, his opinion was, "why don't you make some textures rusty"...??? "I think that fits this project"...!!! And, I like that idea... So, weapons, items, cars, metals, etc, all of them will be rusty... The detector, is the sample of that project... Please comment... I need opinions about this...
