The Genesis mod is an addon mod for Freelancer by Digital Anvil/Microsoft that works in Open Single Player, putting you into the game just after the original campaign has finished.
My only problem is that this doesn't run through FLServer, so I can't play with my friends. Otherwise it is a really nice update to Freelancer.
Too bad Genesis does not have an active server anymore. This mod always was underrated and deserved more attention.
An incredible job. Increased graphics and well-thought-out solar systems. This mod tries, quite successfully, to balance the original game's lack of scale.
It is the year 2019 and I play Freelancer with this mod. Genesis is a simple beauty among mods. The visuals are stunning, the music is perfect, the encouters are fantastic.In addition to this, this mode is also rewarding. I played all big mods for Freelancer but this is something else, for me this is a TOP. Despite one problem - heavy lagging (rarely) - I give this mod a 10/10... I almost crashed into Valhalla.
As posted in my comment moments ago, this started as a nice mod but quickly lost any entertainment value as my freighter made attempts lasting 2-6 minutes trying to dock at a base or at a Freeport station. Correct this issue and I'll consider reloading...but not now, this repeated issue has left me very frustrated with this mod. Solar winds? Nice touch of realism, but too much impact on docking freighters.
Genesis is my favorite mod : enhanced textures, lots of ships, new systems and musics, simulated dynamic economy : a very good single player mod ! You must try it !

Outstanding Graphics and Gameplay!
I enjoyed playing this mod very much, especially on Razorback LOL. My only problem was that classical problem of FL, long time of docking. I had some problems docking with Pachyderm especially in Freeports
Gibbon is one of the best Freelancer modders out there and Genesis does not disappoint!
