Never be frustrated of being headshot'd by a sneaky sniper, no, you don't kill anyone in this game. GarryWare is a custom gamemode for Garry's Mod running on Fretta Gamemode Base. The rule is simple : Do what you are asked to do. Try to screw up what other people are also trying to do. If you fail, you can take over your chance in the next 8 seconds for another game. Yes, that's it : It's a WarioWare-type Party game set on a Multiplayer First Person Shooter environment. Do you think it's not a right platform for that kind of game ? Do you think a multiplayer WarioWare gameplay can't be working ? Wait... Have you even tried that type of game ? Garry Ware reviews the definition of a game : "To have fun, and to share this fun.".

What is planned ?

At this time, only more minigames are planned, along with a modification of the sound ambiance (music, flourishes and sound effects).

About the probable minigames you'll get to see :

  • Hit the bullseye ! by Hurricaaane (Ha3) IP
    "Again ?" you may say. Well, I thought it was weird that players get a gravity gun, and never have to punt a prop into another. Well, here's some target practice. Grab a prop, punt the prop into the bullseye, you win !
  • Get in the pod ! by Hurricaaane (Ha3) NE
    A game of musical chairs : Players battle for a pod to sit in, pushing the others away from the chairs.

What was cut off ?

Some minigames were removed from the mod. This may be temporary or permanent until recoded.

  • Minesweeper ! by Kilburn IP
    This is an adaptation of the Minesweeper game, put on the Checkerboard room. The minigame itself was very elaborate. But the response was negative : The game length was way too long, and the winning conditions were not clear. You could win if you're found a non-mine and then do absolutely nothing, while you could permanently fail if you attempted to look for some others. Also, it was very confusing for the players.
  • Catch melons with your laundry cart ! by Kilburn IP
    The aim was to catch a certain number of melons with a laundry cart. This one was also elaborate, but when it's put under the player's hands, it becomes a huge mess. The carts were colliding each other, and there was no clear solution on how we could nocollide all the carts together without screwing up the game mechanism.
  • Don't be photographed ! by Hurricaaane (Ha3) DP
    In this minigame, you had to hide from being caught on a photograph from other players. Problem is, there was no way to properly hide, so at the end, a lot of players would fail this. It was replaced with "Photograph an untagged player !" eventually ...
  • Photograph an untagged player ! by Hurricaaane (Ha3) DP
    As a fix for the previous iteration, this gamemode failed because every player would suffer from an unexplainable lag whenever someone takes a photograph.
  • Do a barrel roll ! by Hurricaaane (Ha3) IP
    In this minigame, players are transformed into barrels. It didn't work out well because for some reason, barrels would randomly be stuck in place if the player was in a bad position. Also, it seemed too much experimental, and would be full of potential bugs.
