GMod is a Sandbox Modification.
Using GMod you can pose ragdolls. This means can position people from HL2/CS/DoD and change their faces. A big comic book creating community has popped up around this feature.
Using GMod you can build. Take props from HL2/CS/DoD and weld them together to make walls. Axis a wheel to it to create a working car. Rope some cans to the back. A big contraption creating community has popped up around GMod - creating such things as Rube Goldberg devices, catapults, cannons, bridges etc..
Using GMod you can make your own weapons. That's right, make your own weapons. Using Lua you can create a custom weapon to do just about anything. If you're new you can change simple things like rate of fire, models, sounds. If you're awesome the world is your oyster, mass changing guns, melon cannons, jetpacks.
GMod gives you the freedom to do any of these things in single player or online with your friends.

After an intense bug hunting session GMod Eight has been released. Let me say a few words about this release. You need to have CS:Source and Half-Life 2: Deathmatch downloaded and decrypted to play. To decrypt them you need to run the game at least once.
A lot of people seem upset that the wheel gun is missing. You need to realise that this is just a springboard release - there will be patches - everything will eventually be back. I just wanted to get a version of the mod out as soon as possible. That all said - it is a landmark release for the mod. Internet play is better than ever. I really love how people are making their own games up - it's what I really wanted to happen.

A minor update to v8 was made, make sure you have the latest version! Just redownload the mod if you got it within the first few hours of release.

does someone know if you have to have half-life 2 installed on steam or if it can just be on your pc to work...(i have counter-strike source and half-life 2 cracked)..
