GMod is a Sandbox Modification.
Using GMod you can pose ragdolls. This means can position people from HL2/CS/DoD and change their faces. A big comic book creating community has popped up around this feature.
Using GMod you can build. Take props from HL2/CS/DoD and weld them together to make walls. Axis a wheel to it to create a working car. Rope some cans to the back. A big contraption creating community has popped up around GMod - creating such things as Rube Goldberg devices, catapults, cannons, bridges etc..
Using GMod you can make your own weapons. That's right, make your own weapons. Using Lua you can create a custom weapon to do just about anything. If you're new you can change simple things like rate of fire, models, sounds. If you're awesome the world is your oyster, mass changing guns, melon cannons, jetpacks.
GMod gives you the freedom to do any of these things in single player or online with your friends.

One more thing i didn't download it from steam.
Yes, you have a pirated version. Like the mod says when trying to install without a steam installation: "You can't play this without an original HL2 copy!". Doooh, was that so hard to understand?

Can some1 help me. Where can I DL onslaught evolved 1.41! I have been looking for forever and i can't find it. :(
You just need a source engine mod to run Gmod 9 or 10.
Such as: HalfLife2,HL2: EP1-2, CS:S, Team-Fortress2, Portal.
But i still rather buy Gmod 10 than download 9, there are alot features that makes it worth buying.
if u only have hl2 u can play gmod 9.0.0
i dont have css or hldm so dos that mean i can't play it? cause it keeps saying.. no servers or something?
go to the "mods" folder under gmod9 and delete the cs:s and dm folders.
