GMod is a Sandbox Modification. Using GMod you can pose ragdolls. This means can position people from HL2/CS/DoD and change their faces. A big comic book creating community has popped up around this feature. Using GMod you can build. Take props from HL2/CS/DoD and weld them together to make walls. Axis a wheel to it to create a working car. Rope some cans to the back. A big contraption creating community has popped up around GMod - creating such things as Rube Goldberg devices, catapults, cannons, bridges etc.. Using GMod you can make your own weapons. That's right, make your own weapons. Using Lua you can create a custom weapon to do just about anything. If you're new you can change simple things like rate of fire, models, sounds. If you're awesome the world is your oyster, mass changing guns, melon cannons, jetpacks. GMod gives you the freedom to do any of these things in single player or online with your friends.

It said for this(GMOD 9) to be operational, that you need to have Steam downloaded and installed
and you need Half Life 2, Half life 2 deathmatch, or Counter Strike Source

You don't need counter strike source, I have half life 2, ep1 and 2 and deathmatch and gmod 9 works fine for me.

I just recently found out that you need all three games to use gmod.
(Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Deathmatch,and Counter-Strike: Source)
So, far I only have Half-Life 2 and the
Deathmatch, I think thats my problem.....
to play gmod 9 u need a source game, after that u might have a tool called 'Source SDK base 2006' if u have it u need to put the gmod in folder 'Steam>steamapps>sourcemods' open steam, go to library>tools and right click source sdk base 2006 and then properties. click set launch options then write -gmod9 then press ok and then restart steam. after u restart double click source sdk base 2006 and u can play! (if it doesnt work i think u shuld do it on source sdk base 2007 and if it still doesnt work im sorry.)
for all who wanna play gmod 9.0.4, you need Steam for a start. to play gmod you need to have hl2, hl2: deatmatch and cs:s.
if you cant find any servers, make a shortcut at your desktop open content by right clicking it and chose the last option, at destination copy this command (D:\steam\Steam.exe -applaunch 215 -game "d:\steam\SteamApps\SourceMods\gmod9" -console) without the (), or just change the -appluanch to 215, and the destination to your gmod destination. it will fix the "cannot see/run gmod and the cannot find servers/make server"
Ok, answer me this one, I have bought from the store Counter-Strike: Source and Half-life 2 and for some reason Counter-Strike: source says on my games list i need to buy it from steam, when i went to best buy and bought the game, i click the icon it goes to steam to buy it

Never mind i figured it out, i inputted the cd key wrong without the "-" marks in between
Back to square 1, i have all three games, steam, and gmod 9 and i am still getting this error "No Steam Content Servers are available" again anyone....
New problem after i figured that one out, Everytime I try to play the lvl Construct on gmod 9 it says "Unable to load authentication library, Exiting...." I just learned its not only construct most of my "Create a Server" maps, Another problem (last know one) EVERYTIME I TRY TO JOIN A SERVER IT SAYS MY VERSION DOESNT MATCH THAT OF THE SERVER, EVERY SERVER SAYS THAT!!!!

1. Create a New desktop Icon for gmod
2. Right click on it and go to properties
Yours may say something different, used -gamelaunch or something
3. Under path it will say "C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\Steam.exe" -applaunch 220 -game "c:\program files\valve\steam\SteamApps\SourceMods\gmod9"
this is what it should be changed to, assuming your path is the same.
4. Change it to look like this "C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\Steam.exe" -applaunch 215 -game "c:\program files\valve\steam\SteamApps\SourceMods\gmod9"

what do i need to do to get the swep menu after loading a saved game for 9.0.4. When i save a game and load it again the swep menu is gone so wat is the code to get it back. PLEASE SOMEONE TELL ME.

um the reason why it doesn't work is because its a hl2 mod, and you'd think people would know that after going to the hl2 mods section and finding this here.

does cutom ragdoll skins work on it?
The only console GMod would work good for is the Wii but the Wii is basically a Motion Controlled DS for even the psp has better graphics.

i got a problem i need to download gmod 9.4 (im not saying that gmod 10 ain't good i just dont got the money)but every time i download it i cant play because a error pops up right on the main game screen of it and it says mount file system failed and then it says alot of stupid stuff, also i tried getting on servers but it says i dont got third party mod but i see it right on my screen/ if any of u know what i should do email chris.wilson17@yahoo.com your answer
your game doesnt match server because all the servers are gmod 10 and above i suggest you just buy the damn game

If only this worked on 360... Its not that I cant afford the game HL2 for PC its just that at the moment I dont have the 2500 dollars to dish out for the beastie (those of you who read pcpp will know what im talking about) Hopefully i will do soon though.
