Space Skirmishes... are coming... image - Galactic Conflict mod for Age of Empires III: The Asian Dynasties
Age of Empires III: Galactic Conflict is a non-commercial, fan-based Star Wars themed mod under construction for Ensemble’s Studios Age of Empires III, drawing inspiration from several star wars games such as Galactic Battlegrounds, Force Commander and Empire at War, AoE3: GC aims to bring the star wars universe to the great RTS game of Age of Empires III.
Recently I have been playing with the concept of space skirmishes. As of untill now, gameplay focused only on land maps, missing one of the most awesome Star Wars content out: Space Battles. Because it would be impossible to have a balanced gameplay in land where one could spam Star Destroyers against the enemy I decided the best aproach for this is a separate map mode: Space Skirmishes. I am working on the concept, wich is a little cloudy at the time, and I am hoping to present it soon, right now, I'm open to suggestions.
That sounds like an awesome idea. I guess how bases and resource collection would work is the hard part. Perhaps mineral asteroids and workers become some kind of utility ship that build different types of space station (for unit production, upgrades and resource collection) and also mine different mineral asteroids for resources.
I feel like the right words to define this mod are : Pure awesomness ! :O
