Since the 2020 Retail launch the 2011 release was renamed to: G STRING - BETA and in the future the G STRING - ULTIMATE EDITION is coming. Also don't be confused about the "Developer: LunchHouse Software" part. This is the G String Beta you are looking for, the one made by Eyaura. The display was changed because LunchHouse helped me a lot in publishing the game and this will help us both in promoting our work. Which reminds me: they're making PUNT! Go check it out! Since there is no way to list this on MODDB like on Steam (Developer: Eyaura, Publisher: LunchHouse Software) this is the best solution. Thanks and have fun!

Description

Ok then so I guess Ill just say it. So the setting is 23rd century Chicago. Well for a long time I was against saying it to preserve mystery but knowing the place will ground the player more I guess.

So sector 10, 9, 11 and the gold depot will have their place, also sector 0, the air refinery and the ITC and the Kennedy space port... but these places will be very far from the "old city" which is the city as we know it now so I doubt I'll show any landmarks we may recognize, though IDK...

I guess as the coastal cities are flooded the gov. moves inland and builds flood protection systems against the great lakes. Still easier to keep out Lake Michigan rather than the oceans. So as everyone comes here from the flooded coasts and from other continents the city grows to over 60 mil then space exploration develops enough and millions go to the moon and mars so that is why we have many many abandoned buildings we see.

So this kind of explains the type of geometry we traverse in the maps. it sort of makes sense then.

See the beta skyscraper areas do have a Chicago vibe. There is a building that is a carbon copy of the John Hancock center.
