INSTRUCTIONS
- Download RAR files.
- Extract to your steam\steamapps\sourcemods folder.
- Play.
ISSUES THAT MIGHT COME UP
- Notmuch of an issue but I'll mention that the volume is set to 0 when you start so adjust it to your liking before starting a new game.
- In the first level break the window next to the first stairs to find the keycard.
- Duringthe ending the last ascension ride might not start (after the TV screen shrinks and fades to white.)- open console and type "map end_3". Now you should be able to get to the end credits.
- After emerging from the robot cemetery, on the top floor there is a level transition which might not trigger- load the last quicksave.
- Sometimes the "SMG" primary ammo does not display- just switch to another weapon with
bullets like the pistol then switch back to "SMG."
- The missingheadcrab.mdl and the fireball crashes apply only to source sdk 2007. If you have those issues make sure you use source sdk 2006 (steamID 215) in the g string gameinfo. Make sure your source sdk base 2006 is validated and up to date. If you have the sdk base 2006 installed and you still have the mentioned problems uninstall it and download it again from Steam. Also try to run the source sdk 2006 once before playing my mod.

After reading your description about how long time you have been working on it, I believe it's good. there's a lot of work to make a campaign of 12 hours when I mean all from mapping to textures and events like a Helicopter flying past you.

ok, I've run into a problem. whenever I try to use pyrokinesis, the game crashes. any suggestions? I really want to play this mod, I've been waiting a looooooong time for it
try bringing down your video settings to low and disable those advance fancy video features as well. mine never crash no mattr hwo many times I use the pyrokinesis.

i take it binding weapons to keys 1,2,3, etc is not supported at this time.

Working hard on it. It is more than an update, a complete redo incorporating player feedback and adding new gameplay/maps/sounds etc.

ok for those that cant play the mod since they have the nonsteam version put the gstring map in your nonsteam half life map then make a shortcut of your hl.exe to your destop change name in gstring if you want to know which mod it is then right click the shortcut you just made then properties then behind target you press your space then type -game gstring like this
C:\Program Files\booddanet\Half-Life 2\hl2.exe" -game gstring
then press ok and click shortcut and enjoy the mod

Yeah, those photos form the star wars 7 sets look promising. Way better than the prequels... Maybe just as good as the old stuff. Who knows... As long as JJ keeps the lens flares to a minimum it may be a good movie actually. I am shocked.

For some odd reason, my friend on Steam is having issues involving the Steam Overlay not working while in G-String. Which is odd since, whenever I start it up, it shows up and works fine. If the mod author can assist in fixing this then i'd be very grateful. It's just odd that it's happening since, again, it never has happened on my end. :/

I do not understand. How do you win the second psychic attack where you fall through the floor into what seems to be a pool with a bottom you can fall through even further and just die on impact? I can't find any walkthrough or video that would properly EXPLAIN just how you would do this.
I can pass this if I cheat and just turn on God Mode, but I don't want to. Beyond that, I can't even SEE anything beyond just blinding light and such. I have had good memories of playing this, but now these psychic sections are just absurdly bad with no understandable way of winning without outright cheating.
How to disable film grain effect? ..it's very hard for my eyes, really.. why we just can't play normal demo, i mean we are still not deserve it?? what is the point of downgrade at this moment? i dont understand..

I don't know how I got it working a decade ago, but the final cutscene, with the smoke and the squares, doesn't work: I can look around, but I stay static and don't move. I remember running into this before all that time ago, but I think it was random whether it worked or not.
The developer console shows this error:
path_track (trek1) refers to itself as a target!
and unless I can like, hack the game to get noclip working or overload a .dll to fix this issue myself, I think the final portion is just broken. I couldn't find resources online for anyone else encountering this either.
Still a great mod though. Excited to try out the remaster soon.
