Description
The air is foul and corporate fascism reigns in the not too distant future. Somewhere in the North American Union you are Myo Hyori, an 18 year-old girl of Korean descent who has had enough. Oh and you can start fires- with your mind. This makes your corporate owners very nervous...
GENRE
Supernatural science fiction with a dash of horror. Slow and eerie in the first three or so hours, more action heavy afterwards.

All new content. This is a total conversion- it does not take place in the Half Life universe.
REQUIREMENTS
If you can play Half Life 2 you can probably play this.
Since I am not using Half Life 2 assets, you may be able to play G String just with the Source SDK Base 2006 installed.
INSTRUCTIONS
Download RAR files.
Extract to your steam\steamapps\sourcemods folder.
Play.
OPTIONAL
Remove black bars and add crosshairs via addon:

If you want to bind quick keys to your weapons, add this to your config.cfg file in the cfg folder or type it via console (tilde key):

NOTES
I hope you will enjoy becoming Myo for a while. I also hope you won't run into any problems while playing. Please keep in mind that I am one girl and it took me five years to make this. You may reuse all the assets in the mod such as props, textures, sounds in any way except for projects produced for financial gain.
I may or may not port the mod to a later version of the Source engine. It depends on whether you guys like it or not. And of course I'll have to upgrade my rig first. If there is a G String 0.2, it won't happen anytime soon as along with porting it I also want to implement new things and augment the existing experience. In the meantime enjoy what is, considering my limitations it came out fairly well I think. I wanted it out there because I don't know what the future holds for me personally and for the world at large.
ISSUES THAT MIGHT COME UP
Not much of an issue but I'll mention that the volume is set to 0 when you start so adjust it to your liking before starting a new game.
Sometimes the "SMG" primary ammo does not display- just switch to another weapon with bullets like the pistol then switch back to "SMG."
After emerging from the robot cemetery, on the top floor there is a level transition which might not trigger- load the last quicksave.

After reading your description about how long time you have been working on it, I believe it's good. there's a lot of work to make a campaign of 12 hours when I mean all from mapping to textures and events like a Helicopter flying past you.
Looks amazing my dear, did I note that you began and finished by your lonesome? If so this is amazing, and you should definitely add this to a portfolio.

ok, I've run into a problem. whenever I try to use pyrokinesis, the game crashes. any suggestions? I really want to play this mod, I've been waiting a looooooong time for it
try bringing down your video settings to low and disable those advance fancy video features as well. mine never crash no mattr hwo many times I use the pyrokinesis.
this looks great. i like so much of it already.
the view has a kind of static-like vhs video camera quality to it.

it's tough without a crosshair, but i'll deal with it until the patch comes along.
i take it binding weapons to keys 1,2,3, etc is not supported at this time.
zoom function? so far it hasn't proved essential, but it would be nice to have.
i hope my pc doesn't crash when i try pyrokenesis!

Hm... After extracting to my steam\steamapps\sourcemods folder, I go through to find the launch application, and it seems to be missing. Did I do something wrong?
Mod is too big to download. I rather download this through Steam.
When was the release for the 2nd update? Or you already released it?
Working hard on it. It is more than an update, a complete redo incorporating player feedback and adding new gameplay/maps/sounds etc.
This download is more of a public beta.

ok for those that cant play the mod since they have the nonsteam version put the gstring map in your nonsteam half life map then make a shortcut of your hl.exe to your destop change name in gstring if you want to know which mod it is then right click the shortcut you just made then properties then behind target you press your space then type -game gstring like this
C:\Program Files\booddanet\Half-Life 2\hl2.exe" -game gstring
then press ok and click shortcut and enjoy the mod
