Well, after a few patches, a DoS attack, and a few days of relative stability. I've decided to open the four major factions for recruitment. This is not the start of the meta-campaign, but factions will now be able to organize and begin operating on a probationary basis. Fairly soon, I intend to online the advanced faction features, such as capital and heavy freighter construction. Head on over to the forum news post for more information on joining a faction.

For those of you that have yet to join us, go ahead and download the launcher, and register on the forums at www.freeworldstidesofwar.com. Here, you can report any issues you encounter and receive assistance from the community and the developers.

These questions may have been asked before, but what the hey:

Is there going to be a decent single player component to this mod (and if so, will the economy be fixed so that i can actually trade and make profit on things that i buy and sell?) And have the voices of the NPC's been fixed so they arn't still talking about FreeLancer stuff?

Keep up the good work fellas. Really looking forward to this!

SP will not be supported in FW:ToW. The reason being is that many of the key elements in the mod must be supported via FL Hook. That being said, there is nothing stopping a person from running their own server to play the game as we hope to include the key features of the game in the mod install.

As for voices, that's a huge undertaking to do. However, we've done our best to edit most of those FL Vanilla sentences out of the mod.

I have a question... will the turning speed of the capital ships be slowed down. Looking at the first youtube video at 1:22 (i don't remember the name of the class) seems to turn on a pin. Will this be changed or will the engine not allow this to happen?

That's a problem with the way FL handles larger NPC ships. We're currently working on finding an effective fix for it. Fortunately, the largest cap ships handle very well. It's the Corvette/Frigate class that it moves around more than we would like.

As an added note, player controlled caps do not handle this way at all.

We have attempted to lessen the appearance of the hull plates on the textures, however, the hull plates look more like the Home One type of design rather than the other MC 80s. To some of us on the Dev team, this seems more real. That being said, we've attempt to reconcile interests on both sides. Thanks for you input :)

Awesome textures! The 80's are my favorite, they look amazing! In my own opinion, I think the 90 and 40a have really shined now as well.
