Freeworlds: Tides of War is a fan built Star Wars total conversion mod for Digital Anvil's Freelancer game that was released several years ago. When fans began to make mods for Freelancer, one of the many things people were keen on seeing was a Freelancer mod based on the Star Wars universe developed by George Lucas. Freeworlds and Tides of War were the answer to this outcry. The development team of both mods have now joined forces to create an epic new Star Wars TC, Freeworlds: Tides of War.

We've had a great month of development for the Freeworlds: Tides of War.  We've reached several milestones in the mods development. Most notably, we've almost finalized our faction influence, trade and unrest system as well as our trading system.  Now  that the details have been worked out, Qi, W0dk4 and FriendlyFire will work on implementation. 

Another huge development was the work done by our Roleplay Director, DarkForce. He's created an extensive document to help guide players in art of roleplaying.  We're very excited to release this document to the public for their consumption prior to the release of the mod. As you can see, we're very keen on making a very roleplay intensive environment for our server's playerbase.  Let us know what you think of this document here!

Now on to some eye candy;  I've had the opportunity this month to work on converting more of our models over to work with the DX9 upgrade. While this is a very labour intensive process, often taking more than two hours per ship, we felt it was important to finish several of the ships prior to release.  Below are some of the more notable ship improvements:

We've already posted plenty of information. Respen is doing excellent coverage of the new mechanics as they are implemented on our forums ( Freeworlds-tow.net ), we have numerous news posts with links and descriptions, etc. There even is one gameplay-related link in this very news post!

Okay, so I got the game installed, But now the only sounds that work ingame are the lasers. What could be causing this issue? has anyone had it before? I am running on win7 64bit.

PS: this mod is gunna be widescreen right?

Is there going be like "Normal" server and "Roleplay" or just a "Roleplay" ??? I ask because i always hated Roleplay since i'm bad at it, but i'm really looking forward to play this mod. Hell i didn't track it this long and then not being able to play at the end >.>

When we release the mod, it will come with the server side information for you to host your own server. Furthermore, I'm sure there will be offshoot servers that will focus more on PvP than actual RP.

I wish there wouldn't be more than one server for each region (US, Europe, Asia), because it will spread people even more, so I fear in the end there won't be any server, that is really filled with "life". Which is essential for a roleplay-game.
