Freeworlds: Tides of War is a fan built Star Wars total conversion mod for Digital Anvil's Freelancer game that was released several years ago. When fans began to make mods for Freelancer, one of the many things people were keen on seeing was a Freelancer mod based on the Star Wars universe developed by George Lucas. Freeworlds and Tides of War were the answer to this outcry. The development team of both mods have now joined forces to create an epic new Star Wars TC, Freeworlds: Tides of War.

Post news Report RSS FW: ToW - Cockpits

We're hoping every ship in FW:ToW will get a unique cockpit to call its own. Sovereign, our lead import developer, is hard at working getting the best models for our mod!

Posted by on

Due to our smaller shiplist, we've been able to pay attention to fine details that make good mods, incredible ones. Sovereign, our lead import developer, has been combing over countless files/textures/models to put the finishing touches on all our vessels that will be in our initial release. These models will surely make all Star War lovers drool!!

Here's some eye candy of Sovereign's work in progress:

Hutt Bomber and Cockpit

Hutt Interceptor and Cockpit

Hutt Patrol Ship

TIE Bomber and Cockpit

TIE Interceptor and Cockpit

TIE Fighter and Cockpit

TIE Fighter Cockpit

The FW:ToW Dev team hope you enjoy the latest update. Also, for those of you interested in our combat prototype that is currently being tested, the results will be posted in the new few days!

We thank the First Strike team for use of their models within our mod once more. They're absolutely stunning.

I just keep thinking, I will be able to see the whites of my enemies eyes as I fly at them now! Sushi, we should stick little stick men in there! :P

I definitely agree about the Hutt ships, they are some interesting designs. I suppose the Hutts were too busy partying when the designer came in and they avoided having to make them as as big as a house and twice as ugly!

Hmmm, in a game where your guns aren't fixed forward you really don't need cockpits, they get in the way more. Únless you guys are gonna fix the guns forward, which incase would make it awesome!

Hutts probably won't be able to squeeze in those cockpits! Haha... Humanoids working for the Hutts would do all the grunt work, while the Hutts themselves probably run things from afar. The ships are built by the remnant of the Mandalorian clans, MandalMotors to be specific.

those ties look awesome, beside some smothing-errors, where r these models and textures from ? or r they made from scratch?

the window of the cockpit need to be rotated about 15° so that ineterior match external apperance ...
