Remember spending hours in the local pizza parlor, wasting quarter after quarter on games like Rush and Crusin' USA ? Yeah, those were the days. The days where a pickup truck could easily compete with a Ferrari and cars exploding on the race track wasn't only normal, it was a common occurrence. Too bad everything now is either “REALISM” or “STREET RACING”. Mostly realism. Want to go 200 miles per hour through a city without traffic, power sliding and trying to keep ahead? Oh, I'm sorry, but that there is a REALISTIC game. Hell, the games probably have realistic emission systems that fine you if your car pollutes too much.
Well, we at Exploding Dog Entertainment think that is bullshit.
Welcome to Full Speed, a balls to the wall, speed packed racing mod on the Source engine. Fuck tire wear, fuck licensed cars, and fuck anything that has anything to do with Racing and Rap.
Our mod will consist of three modes. You have your normal Lap races, which are called “Normals”. You need to place first on the third lap to win. You get Nitus boosts depending on how many laps there are, but don't be tempted to use them all at once.
The second mode is a Point A to Point B race. These are called A2B races. You need to be the first car to reach the end to win. A2B races usually have more hazards than Normals, so be careful.
The third and final mode is called “Gold Star” mode. You are placed on a special track, where it is last man standing. A crash or other car-hindering events gets you a gold star. Three gold star takes you out of the race. Last driver on the track wins.
What about music, you say? Well, you're in luck. Full Speed will have a built in front end for the MP3 player in Half Life, allowing you to listen to your own songs as well as the tracks the game ships with.
