Reign of Conflagration is a rebirth of the old mod which has been changed around, this time this is aimed at Generals Zero Hour consisting of three new sides and sub-groups for you to take charge of. The timeline is alternated with changes to the campaign story-line, additions to old units, changes to units and new units which will make the army you side with unstoppable.

May want to bare in mind that the model is currently not final and will be redone for the GLRF and also the coding will be redone to use 1 mortar cannon instead of having 2 for balancing.

Also it won't have the ability to garrison the structure, so it'll be a regular base defense competing with the USA's Patriot Missile, Company Gun Turrets and many others.

We also mentioned a new Anti-Aircraft site, we'll show a preview render of it sometime next week for round 2 of the Upcoming Stealth Render series, also the Stinger Site is still ingame until further notice so we can get the GLRF ingame to build the Mortar Site & AA Sites, we'll sort that out sometime later.

It honestly seems like a completely inept base defense without the garrison, and it isn't unique at all without it. without the Garrison I think you should remake the whole thing to be just a Mortar pit. Media.moddb.com Something like this would be best.

True, you got a point on that.

However I don't think the game engine Generals is based on will allow Mortar Pits, but I can give it a try by all means with some techniques through modelling. Also with the garrison feature I'll keep that in by all means to keep things unique, however China will be having a similar system but being a multi-role defense.

The design is being redone so I'll consider the Mortar Pit idea and also adding the garrison back in, its all about experimenting with various & possibly weird combinations in the end, but I appreciate the ideas and criticism. Thanks kindly

Aomething that could be done to balance out the garrison is to make the mortar site like the U.S fire base where the infantry are not completely protected from enemy fire and can be affected by anti garrison weapons

Anyways, great model I look foreword to playing this mod!

That can balance gameplay, I'll experiment that in the coding and see what results it'll produce by all means.

Also, Woozle has given us an idea for Mortar Pits, so we'll possibly have various types of designs for the Mortar Sites and see what type of results they'll give us.

For the Mortars like I said only one but try Rise of the reds version of mortars (an open design and for balance make him, the man manning the mortar, kill-able like the stinger site) on top of the mortar site and the mortar shell can hit artillery but make that an upgrade that mounts the mortar from the Palace(you would but the upgrade from their then you would manually have to upgrade the mortar site to have their mortars) or a range upgrade and may be (if balanced) anthrax shells upgrade (from the same upgrade as tanks)

I'll add those into the improvements and plans for the Mortar Site, I've seen ideas such as men being killed by garrison cleaners & such, Mortar Pits etc etc.

Likewise, I'll add those into the newer models. Thanks kindly for the ideas

Description

The Mortar Site is a new base defense will replace the old Stinger Site defenses as the GLRF's primary anti-ground defense, in order to save the lives and operatives who previously volunteered to defend bases in the Stinger Sites, the new defense is equipped with mortars for long range defense along stealth detection systems salvaged base defenses destroyed by the GLRF, if the base defense gets destroyed at some point during a battle a hole will appear and if left alone it will rebuild the defense.

Developer Notes:
Now during the testing phases, we did experience some small issues with the structure and there were some flaws in the model design and also in the coding, we will touch on those for a new preview.

Also along with said plans we will also create a newer version of the defensive structure with only one mortar cannon, also we did find out that during testing infantry garrisoning the Mortar Site will break the balance so we're going to scrap that.

So to ensure we don't miss anything, we're going to list some things that will be done so it will be different than what we've tested in the video:
1. A new model will be made
2. The defense will have 1 mortar
3. Infantry won't garrison the defense
4. Upon the completion of a Supply Stash, the Mortar Site and a new Anti-Air Site will be available like with US & Chinese Power Reactors
