Firstly, Mr.Nameless has finished his brand new sound engine for GoldSrc. He has been working on this primarily for his mod Amnesia, but few days ago he offered me to add it into From Beneath. So FB will use it. You can read something about the sound engine on the Amnesia profile. Nameless also fixed some glitches in the code.

As for me... I progressed a bit in mapping, made a few new props and edited few older. So far two and half maps are done, first two are part of quite long intro cutscene. I also recently started working on the axe model. The axe itself will be almost the same as the one which you could see in the "Models and renderer preview" video, but the player will hold it in both hands and I'll make much better animations.

As is written in the headline, progress is slow, mainly because i can't seem to find enough time. But important is that something is still happening, even though it's not much. Also, I would still appreciate some help from a good modelers/texture artists, if you are interested write me a message on moddb.

A lot of things changed since i posted here the first preview (wow, was that whole year ago?!...). Anyway a lot of features has been added since then and the video is not really valid anymore. So very soon I plan to make new video containing particles, sound engine, water shader,... etc.

And finally - here's a little something...

We're back!

More than half year past since last update and who didn't forget about this mod is probably curious about what we were doing... The answer is nothing...

The lighting is good but the models and maps look a little cartoon-ish.

I have fraps. But when i recorded it with fraps it looked like ****, it was too dark and looked like the frames has lower color depth. Fraps just won't record it properly, this looks way better.

Nice video, all is really nice, the ilumination effects the dinamic shadows, something unseen for half life at the time, but i think that the animations from the zombies are to "robotic" for a zombie...

Also the bullet holes in the enemies is from paranoia or from raven city,or you make it.

I already decided that I wont use models which are in the video (maybe just the skeleton, but with better textures). I'm still looking for a modeler to join the team (as is written in latest news). If I won't find anyone I'll have to make new models myself, which would mean much longer development time...
Decals on models is one of the features of Raven city renderer.

This looks exactly like a 3d remake of the first/second doom. Then again, ID software is involved.

ID software has nothing to do with appearance or atmosphere of the game... I was told that ID software is somehow involved in developing Highlander's renderer, which is used in the game and I want to give credit to everyone, but that's all.
