UPDATE: A VIDEO HAS BEEN ADDED TO THE MEDIA SECTION, CHECK IT OUT! Character modellers ALSO NEEDED TO MAKE THE MAIN PLAYER AND YOUR PARTNERS. 10 maps are complete so far, will update when more maps are finished.

FreeRunner is a Standalone TC of Duke3D using the Build engine with the completely new features that Eduke32 port offers (Directx, great scripting, etc).

So far It's me DavoX (Buenos Aires explosive, CBP7) Geoffrey Van dijk (Fbsp001, 002,003, Night and Day, Project advent, and a long etcetera) as mappers and DeeperThought (DNWMD, Mario Nukem, Duke Nukem Arena, Duke Ex) as a coder and we need more mappers!! UPDATE: Character modellers ALSO NEEDED TO MAKE THE MAIN PLAYER AND YOUR PARTNERS.

The gameplay consists on an "Urban Prince of persia" type of game, jumping around, doing wall jumps, dodges, mantling on ledges, moving crates to reach high places, etc, etc.

Maps don't need to be extremely detailed or anything, they can be kept simple as long as you use good shading and the flow of the maps is consistent.

So far 10 maps have been completed for this MOD and it's already on releaseable state, BUT it would be extremely nice to have more and more maps for it, that way it'sa nicer package.

Please take a look at the screenshots section so you can see this is a quality MOD that you could work on.

The graphics and levels look good. The new features and gameplay elements (jumping, dodging, mantling) sound very promising. I think this will definitely be a quality mod. I look forward to playing this.

It would look cool if the Hands and feet were shown on the screen in real-time. It would look totally kick-***. As far as i did, i did a poll and about 152 people would like to see hands and feet reacting on the screen when you play the game.
(152 people? Thats strange, alot of people seems to know about this mod :P )

Maybe thats something the author should look into when they are finished with the final release.

interesting idea. old duke nukem 3d engine still looks good.
but i wonder why you didn't choose a better engine that is more current and more flexible? something like half-life 1/half-life 2 engine?

also the map looks like platform jumping than freerun/parkour thing.
i didn't liked that spikes :)

The half life 1 and 2 engine couldnt handle a mod like this. Plus the source engine is way to complicated and time consuming. Do you know how fast it is to load up the map editor for duke compared to Hammer?

Freerunner runs on EDuke32, which is an enhanced port of Duke Nukem 3D. EDuke32 is available for Windows and Linux, but not Mac. That could change by the time that Freerunner is released, but I doubt it.
