Q: Why did you make this program?
A: Due to Microsoft recently shutting down the Global Servers (the servers that list the Multiplayer Games), the Freelancer modding community has made an alternative Global Server. The only problem is, to connect to the custom Global Server, you must edit your Freelancer game files. Some users feel this is a complex process, and this program edits the game files for you.
Q: How do I use this program?
A: 1.) Start the program
2.) Click browse
3.) Locate the Freelancer.INI file in the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer directory. (The program will attempt to help you with this step.)
4.) Click Apply ONCE
5.) Quit
6.) Start Freelancer
7.) Go to Multi-player, Internet
8.) Pick a server and Enjoy

Unknown to me, there was a SEVERE Issue with the program preventing it from having any functionality what-so-ever. I will have a fixed version up as soon as possible. In the meanwhile, you might have to reinstall. I am severely sorry, and I am now working on creating a revised version

So were can i get this program then?
hello,
i have problems with freelancer hotfix GUI(i download it from another site) and i follow the instructions of cimx
but when i select the freelancer.ini in EXE folder and i select apply,the programm says me an error
i select continue and i see anything in the global server(in freelancer) of course
Help me please !
this is not a mod, it should b posted as a simple download, not as a mod entry, cimx.
Follow the instructions on the Interface, I might add a tutorial soon.
This is what it does : It modifys your freelancer.ini file so you can play the game online. Microsoft turned OFF their own personal servers, so now the community hosts their own so you can still play. Without this, you cannot play multiplayer anymore.
Eh. So I downloaded it... and installed. Now what the hell do I do?
Two questions.
1. How hard is it to use?
2. Can I FINALLY host my own, private LAN game for testing mods?
It is extremely simplistic, with only 3 real steps which are labeled on the programs interface.
