Fragging Free is a Doom3:ROE single-player modification.
FF has a precise objective: to bring the classic gameplay to the maximum.
We've found D3 gameplay good, but it was too slow and static if compared to older id games.
We worked hard to create something better and now we have a really fast and fun gameplay with crazy fights and much more challenging enemies.
In Fragging Free you'll find lots of action, lots of monsters, lots of power-ups and a well-balanced gameplay that will push your skills to their limit.
"Free" is the word that summarise the essence of this mod: no more limitations (instant weapon change, high walk speed and ut-style dodge abilities, no falling damage, no need to hold a key to run, ...), no objectives to follow, no stupid puzzles to do... just focus on fighting and have fun.
If you love Doom, Quake, Unreal, Serious Sam, Painkiller you know what we are talking about.
MAIN FEATURES:
- Fast gameplay: instant weapon change, high walk speed and ut-style dodge abilities.
- 10+ big maps filled with adrenalinic fights, lots of secrets and many outdoor sections.
- 18 weapons: we added what was missing do D3 and adapted the old ones to fit the new gameplay.
- 15 weapon powerups.
- Possess demons: fight as a demon in 3rd-Person Perspective...every monster has his own abilities and unique gameplay!
- Bullet time mode allows to gain health and move 2x faster. It can be recharged by collecting demons' souls or obtaining new medals.
- New/reworked enemies with new AI and attacks.
- Friend marines with advanced AI: they can choose different weapons according to the situation, they can talk and cooperate.
- Custom Sound Track.
- Drive a vehicle.
- Medals for special kills and map statistics.

Patch 1.2 released!
Main changes:
- Bullet Time Bloom on/off control in the main menu.
- Added bonus for collecting 100 souls.
- Better dodge code.
- More efficient player script.
- Jetpack smoke and light.
- Fixed and improved Shock Rifle skins.
- Fixed loading bars.
- Fixed a bug in the first map.
- Fixed a bug in the 8th map.
- Fixed a bug in chaingun script.
- Fixed Helltime teleporting out of the map bug...again.
- Fixed a bug in idFuncSmoke.
- Tutorial now ends correctly even while driving the buggy.

Help!,i have a problem...
When I win the Sector 1 (when you ascend over a Capsule),the game crashes!
My PC:
AMD Athlon 3200 (2,0 GHz)
ATI Radeon x1600 (512 MB)
1,5 GB of RAM
And i Play the game on Rookie...

Wow that never happened to anyone.
Are you sure you don't have custom stuff in your "base" and "d3xp" forders? This is usually the main source of problems.
Anyhow, it crashes with the blue doom screen or you are thrown back to the game console/menu?
In both case, please report here the error message you obtain.
What is Custom Stuff?
Note:My Doom 3 is not Original.
I mean other mods, skin packs etc...
Sometimes people place them in the base or d3xp forders and this is wrong.
Could you copy-paste the error that is printed in the console or in the crash window? Otherwise, I cannot understand what's going on.
It could be also related to the fact that your game is not original, dunno.
Just downloading and playing. The first Doom3 mod that works at first with no problems. NICE ideas, like playing like another characters -demos- in third person.
New weapons, buggie, new enemies, new enviroments (bigger than the original)....just focus like old school FPS, an as funny as always...Doom3 is still alive!...and offering, with mods like yours even more hours of funny gaming! Thanks, dude! :) ...for the great work!

I'm sorry I didn't have the opportunity to try it on the Steam version, but as far as I know it should work fine.
Make sure you don't have other mods or extracted assets in your "base" and "roe" folders.
Make sure you have at least 1.3 version and in the case you have 1.3 (not 1.3.1) you have to replace a couple of files in the freggingfree folder as indicated in the readme. You probably already did this because the game starts... but just in case...
You can also try to create a shortcut. Make a copy of your Doom3 shortcut, and add at the destination the string "+set fs_game fraggingfree +set fs_game_base d3xp"
Example - from:
D:\doom3\DOOM3.exe
to
D:\doom3\DOOM3.exe +set fs_game fraggingfree +set fs_game_base d3xp
Now use the shortcut to directly run the mod.
Don't know what else to say. Did anyone else tried it on the Steam version?
I have both CD Doom3+RoE and Steam ones(came with Superpack).
Here's what I tried to get the mod working on steam.
1)Right Click on Doom 3 icon in your games list - Properties.
2)General Tab - Set Launch Option.
3)add the command line like : +set fs_game fraggingfree +set fs_game_base d3xp (you don't need "s there)
4)Run Doom 3.
I confirmed intro map loaded with launch options mentioned above.
the map doesn't load if I launch Fragging Free via MOD option in the Doom 3 main menu.
If you want to play other mods or regular Doom 3, simply remove the launch options.
So the .bat file doesn't work for the Steam version, but the shortcut method does.
