Forgotten Hope Secret Weapon started as a small Minimod for Forgotten Hope mod for Battlefield 1942. The original intention was to bring some crazy but really planned weapons to FH like the Ratte Tank. However after 3 years of development, Forgotten Hope Secret Weapons became the biggest mod for Battlefield 1942 with dozens of improvements for the 'old' FH0.7 FHSW gives you more than 500 new equipments, new physics (bouncing bullets and towable artillery), more maps and even more mapimprovements/-changes on FHmaps and the new nation Hungary.

Basic Starting a mod.
MULTIPLAYER ONLY MOD, IT WILL CRASH IF YOU TRY TO PLAY SP/COOP!
1) Install Battlefield 1942
The Origin version of BF1942 can be downloaded for free here and is already patched.
If you use the retail (CD) version you have to update it to 1.61b first:
Patch 1.6: Gamefront.com (268 MB) Mirrors
Patch 1.6 to 1.61b: Gamefront.com (6 MB) Mirrors
2) Download and install Part 1 to 3 of Forgotten Hope 0.7
If you want to play with the Origin version you have to use this installer: Somua.com (2042 MB) Mirror #1 Mirror #2
CD users download this:
Part 1: Gamefront.com (689 MB) Mirrors
Part 2: Gamefront.com (686 MB) Mirrors
Part 3: Gamefront.com (694 MB) Mirrors
3) Download and install FH Fan-Mappack 6
4) Download and install Part 1 to 3 of Forgotten Hope Secret Weapon
You must delete your old installation of FHSW first by simply deleting the folders "FHSW" and "STFHSW" from ../EA Games/Battlefield 1942/Mods/

There is a Windows 7 and widescreen fix included in this installer, make sure you run FHSW with admin rights and without any compatibility mode on.
Known issues:
- All maps crash if you try to play them in Coop/SP
- Sometimes it crashes while loading a MP map, too. Try to load the map a second time and close all other applications including browser before you start the game.
- Apply Win98/Me compatibility mode on the FHSW desktop icon if everything fails, the downsides are longer loading times, lower resolution and Punkbuster problems.
- Very long loading times up to 3 minutes for a map. The higher your RAM the faster it loads.

Do i need to install fan mappack 6 and the map tweak pack to run this mod?
You can run the mod without it, but you won't be able to play online. Also some maps (the ones with a grey thumbnail ingame) will crash if you don't have the fan mappack 6 installed.
Be aware that FHSW is a multiplayer mod so most maps don't work in coop mode or contain pathfinding bugs or will randomly crash while playing.

Where do i put the fan map pack and the map tweak pack?
wait nvm i found that, but i have another problem, after i downloaded everything, i cant load any maps, the loading bar fills up about half way and then it slows down and takes FOREVER, i sat here for 1 hour waiting for it to finish, and it did but then it just sat there doing nothing, and if it really takes that long for every map to do this then im gonna just delete it, (fhsw) and i tryed bout 3 maps, and each did the same thing
Hmm, what's your hardware? The requirements for this mod are a lot higher than for Battlefield 1942.
Yes, sadly it takes long to load a map compared to other mods. For me it's max 2 1/2 minutes and I have a pretty average pc:
AMD X3 450 ~3,2 GHz
4 GB Ram
Radeon HD 5700 Series 1 GB
I got used to the long loading time, mostly I alt tab out and surf on the internet while it loads.
i have:
AMD athlon II 630 Quad-Core
4GB DDR3
750GB hard drive with 358 GB left
I have a graphics card that can play crysis 2 on its highest quality, meaning ( i dont remember what type =] )
And for very few maps, the loading bar goes bout half way, then it goes super slow like 1% ever 5 secs, then it speeds up near the end and finishes, but the maps like Tank Test Field or I guess the Larger maps, take longer or dont load at all, and im only having this problem with fhsw. And i rly wana play those maps =]
Yeah the loading bar behaves strange in FHSW. Sometimes the bar is full but it still takes 1 or 2 minutes to finish. Just let it load, the map will show up eventually.
How long does it exactely take to load a map? Your hardware is way better than mine so it should take 2 mins maybe?
well for: FH artillery , Iron Monster , Sand Storm , Tank Test Field , Test Field, it takes more then an hour/not at all.
hmm, thats odd, but it seems to be workin now, tho i dont know why.
one more thing, whats the map that has like a giant tank on it? i heard something bout it being called "Rattrap" but i wasnt sure

The map is called "Operation Rattrap", it's an objective mode map.

on my pc the loading bar ends but not appearing on the map after two minutoso game crashes and exits automatically

Ok so i've done everything of what the guide was telling me to do, but it keeps telling me that my game need to be patch when i try to join a FHSW on internet ... i have installed all the patch : / help me pls ! :( and when i play in skirmish, my game crash for no reason during the loading of the map, and i have lot of map in the selection, where it's a white picture, and when i try to load them, i instantly crash too ... it's not coming from my setting, it's a brand new gaming computer, and i've reinstalled bf1942 befor following the guide, help :(
ok i've reinstalled everything, and now, forgotten hope isn't even starting .....
This is not to be rude, but could someone distribute the origin install by torrent?
I'm currently not able to cover this on HTTP downloads as my network has some problems, and I'm transferring between several destinations every day.
Sort it by 4 folders (install 1, install 2, etc.)
and add the instructions in a read me file. That would be really humble and awesome if you could do that.
Sorry, I can't setup a torrent because I have a very slow internet connection (30kbyte/s upload). :/

i got a problem, but only when trying to go to the server, even if it says to have the same version 0.51 the bar when it says connecting to server doesen't fill up and then, shortly after goes back telling that the version of the server differs from the one i installed.
did i install the digital release by mistake?, i got the CD version of BF1942 so i wonder if that might be it.
It works with the CD and Origin version. Someone had a similar issue only a few days ago, a simple reinstall of the game+mods did it for him.

If you use the installer it should autmatically pick the right folder. With the zipped version you have to put the maps into ..\Battlefield 1942\Mods\FH\Archives\bf1942\levels\
