Hello and welcome back to another update of Forgotten Hope. We are proud to announce that today we are ready to show off some of our latest work that we've been keeping under wraps for some time now. But before that, please welcome Zeta to the team, who will be helping us to create static models.
Firstly, we would like to once more thank everyone for helping us win the 2010 Mod of the Year contest. We fully appreciate everyone's support for our mod. And now, as promised, we have a teaser image, and several renders and in-game screenshots of our latest and greatest projects.
Over the past few months, we have been working to bring more content to FH2 at a faster rate, yet with the same level of quality. As many of you know, our next project is the Battle of the Bulge. At the same, the decision was made to bring FH2 to the Eastern Front. Today, we are proud to reveal the first results of that decision: a teaser image done by FatJoe, and two new Soviet tanks.

Up next are the first of what we hope to be many Soviet vehicles: the KV-1S heavy tank and the SU-152 Assault Gun.
The KV-1S was introduced in late 1942 with 1,370 tanks produced. It was based off the pre-existing KV-1, and featured lighter armor, a smaller turret, along with a 76mm gun. As a result, the KV-1S was faster, with a top speed of 43 km/h. The heavy tank was also the first tank to feature a commander's cupola with all-around vision blocks, which was a first for Soviet heavy tanks. However, with the thinner armor, the tank was called into question since the T-34 could do everything the KV could do. The KV-1S was made by Toddel.
The SU-152, or "beast killer", was a heavy self-propelled gun (SPG) armed with a 152mm howitzer. Since it was intended for providing artillery fire, the SPG was generally issued high-explosive (HE) rounds. The SU-152 became notorious for being able to knock out many of the heavy German tanks, and was even able to completely rip the turret off of a Tiger tank by simply firing HE shells at it. After Kursk, the SU-152 was used in its intended role, which was to destroy German fortifications, on all Soviet fronts, but it would later be replaced by the new ISU-152. The SU-152 was made by Pointblank86 and Toddel.
While we have certainly progressed far in our efforts, all Eastern Front content will be released after the Battle of the Bulge. However, what this does mean is that the Soviet Armies are finally coming to Forgotten Hope 2. On a final note, we have some in-game screenshots of some of the maps to be featured in our upcoming Battle of the Bulge patch.
That's all for this week, but be sure to come back next time for another update. Until then, feel free to visit our IRC channel and our public forums.
Awesome! cant wait for bulge and eastern front!
Great wallpaper addition to my collection!
I've been wondering why FH2 was all that quiet. Again outstanding work models are excellent.
But I'll give you guys this idea, go full stand alone; theres a lot of good engines out there basically for free that would suit perfectly.
Thats great to here
looking forward to some snow battles
MY DREAMS COME TRUE, thx for this.
Really nice work I love the new tank models.
I have one question. Is there a possibility of cooperation between FH team and Hungarian Front team? So we may see Russians fighting not only against Germans but Hungarians too?
Well, Hungarian Front as an FH2 minimod exists by the hand of mastert only iirc. It's possible that one day in the future, he will have accumulated enough material to make a Hungarian map a possibility. As with everything though, don't expect this to happen with certainty.
How about making Polish army, like in FH1942? Poles have fought in 2nd WW too.
Do you mean Poles as in the German/Soviet Invasion of Poland, or the Polish contingents in the British and Soviet armies? The former does not really fit in the scope of the current undertaking (which seems to be focused on 1944 onwards) and is therefore extremely unlikely.
Can't wait for eastern front :)
It will be epic. Maybe some Finland maps?
