Forgotten Hope 2 is an award-winning World War II modification for Battlefield 2TM and is based on the original Forgotten Hope, a modification for Battlefield 1942TM, one of the most popular multiplayer games ever. Battlefield 1942TM featured land, sea and air combat in a way never before seen. It was the goal of the development team to maximize the game experience by adding both a realistic and enjoyable gameplay to FH and now to FH2.
The British were amongst the first to use both the Stuart and Sherman tanks in combat during the battles of Operation Crusader and El Alamein. American tank crews would get their first taste of combat during Operation Torch, and would go head-to-head against the German Panzer III and Panzer IV. While this was often an even match up, it was the feared Tiger I that could inflict serious damage to a US armored company, and many times it took a strong combination of tanks, air power, and artillery to defeat them. The M3 Stuart and M4 Sherman would go on to serve both the British and American armies throughout the North African campaign until they were ultimately replaced by newer variants in 1943 and 1944. The M3A1 Stuart was done by Pointblank86. The Sherman was originally modeled by Omni, and was re-skinned for Africa by Pointblank86.
I do love me some Shermans.. hehehehehehehhehehe
Consistent excellence when it comes to 3d modeling and texturing for years now. 2.4 update = Mod of the Year, again!
Why is the star yellow, is it just a division mark, or is it somthing more?
@FH2noob
The star is yellow b/c US army largely used yellow or white stars on their vehicles with green background, just common for the US Army during ww2, nothing else.
I'm always amazed at how modern the German tanks look compared to those cute babies. But the Sherman had one benefit - there were many of them.
There is an even manier tank called the T-34 NICE !!!
A good Tiger Tank could take 5 Shermans, the problem was, there was always 6.
That's a myth
The problem was not the amount of Shermans, the problem was the Sherman tank's versatility - its ability to be upgraded to suit damn near every situation in all the theaters of the war. You could see a standard M4 with a 75mm cannon rolling up one side and laugh it off as its shells shrug off your side armor, while you can see a M4A3E8 (Easy Eight) run up on another side and feel its 76mm HV cannon pierce your armor at long range... or you can desperately try to fight an M4A3E2 (Jumbo Sherman) and hope to pierce its angled, heavy frontal armor.
wiked cool do you have the flamethrower sherman
