For Rome is the roman mod for mount and blade warband, featuring roman tactics and discipline like an testudo formation. Its siege have been changed: fight all over the city and use ballistas and battering rams, there will be a big political system with treason and quests, to reach the ultimate goal: become the emperor of rome. So the only question you need to ask yourself is how far will you go for Rome?

Take good care about the ability to become the emperor of Rome through political means.I am not talking about creating a new faction, but becoming the emperor of the Roman faction itself.

Exactly my idea
Thats like a combination of getting the emperor to like you and joining the right plots supporting the right men

Thats hard to say without first playing it. Bytenwalda provides great baseground with the stamina feature and bleeding ect., ability to sack cities and the siege mec is unchalleged by all other systems I've played so far. Hence why its my favorite mod in the past and why I always like mods based off of it.

Yes the other roman mod uses it but yours will be different in many ways. Most of all the focus more on Gladiators and storyline less so than a massive map and ton of factions.

Its obvious you know how to code if you've accomplished what you say you have. And therefore there are many directions this could go. Thank you for all your hard work so far.

1.
Perhaps starting out as a slave and having the option to break out ect and then becoming an enemy of Rome -100 and be hunted. Forcing you flee to the Tribes.

Perhaps Using freelancer code by having a a single man perhaps within the roman faction or seperate faction that you start indentured to. So therefore you could have a skill tree to rank up in as you fight and level up and gain a bit of money.

Where if you manage to escape it has those negative effects.

2.
Change the escaped serfs questline to 'Slave Revolt' where you have to kill three good sized groups of slaves before they reach freedom. They refuse to turn back or attack you on sight or perhaps even can join you.(if they join you it makes Rome -100 hostile)

If not you fail the quest get major backlash in the form of loss relations.

3.
Have a certain family member of the royal family be considered claimants and to start a civil war you need very high renown ect.
And once its started have certain lords automatically join on the side of that family member. Hence starting a Roman civil War.

4.
Have owning castles and cities add to party size.

Castles add 50, cities add 100.

The reason for this is obvious.

5.
Use beginning quest scripts for something. If you arnt already then the idea could be to start in a Slave revolt or being at the wrong place at the wrong time. (A slaver raid?)
And be taken as a slave and having a screen come up saying you were taken to Rome or whatever and were sold to fight in the ring.

6.
Have chest armour that is simply a ripped body ect.
Giving protection while of course weighing as close to nothing as you can get it.

Oke 1 is already being implented
2 Also (this means a normal soldier can never be king)
3 I like it but needs to be more complicated. (Will be implented)
4 Not sure you can already support messalina and agrippa later choose between narcissus and pallas
Later choose between seianus en seneca a lot of choices missions directions and plots
5 when chosen gladiator there will be a part where you can attack the gaurds and start a slave revolt
6 like a gladiator armor?

PS: I come up with most ideas after I try it out and see where things can be done. Ideas always come to mind. Though Im aware of what is harder or easiler to change. Using the template of an existing quest is more easy than scripting an entirely new one.

And plus people prefer to do away with old quests anyways.

One more thing would be cool :

While being a vassal- become governor of a certain province, and have complete power of what happens there, you only answer to the Emperor but you get the richest town in that region( the capital) and have complete control over financial and military aspects of that region.

Power influence with other factions- force other factions to be your vassals and provide soldiers and tribute.

In diplomacy there is a screen which says for each faction how many lords, centres and caravanes do they have. You can try to build around this a power indicator.

When you become emperor of Rome for example and your realm's power is over 3 times bigger than other faction you can force a kingdom to surrender and become a province.THey keep their fiefs, but they are all part of the Roman empire now providing money and force.

As recruitment i would suggest the Lance recruitment of Anno Domini, feudal recruitment is very similar to Roman recruitment.

Feudal recruitment was similar to that of the Romans during the republic, we are talking about when Rome was an empire during the Julio - Flavian dynasty, army and recruitment then was similar to that of today, for most of its inhabitants saw it as a career, with an annual pay, weapons/food/equipment payed for by the state, and never ending training and drilling, feudal armies were made out of warriors who brought their own weapons/equipment and sometimes also food, training was minimal and they fought for as long as the campaign would last and then disband.
long story short, i think a new recruitment system should be thought of...

Yeah. Besides that the lance recruitment system is a pain in the ***.

Using the native system would be more accurate, as Rome never really had a feudal thing going on (especially during the empire). While I was playing another mod based in ancient Rome, they had the soldiers in villages just upgrade to heavy infantry, which is also historically accurate. In cities they allowed you to hire mercenary archers and cavalry along with Roman mercenary infantry and recruits.

there will be germanic tribes and britonic tribes I assume. I would like to be able to join them that would be cool playing as the barbarians. I hope you will make the barbarians fierce enough to be able challenge romans, at least when they have the number advantage on romans. THank you for your effort by the way.:D

Please change the faces, scenes, and other general native stuff, the faces, new game character story and what not on viking conquest or bellum imperii were awesome, i know it would take a long time but please have something new like that implemented, and any possibility for starting out as a consul/pro-consul or at least a lord with fiefs?, or maybe emperor or king? (viking conquest royal sandbox where you start out as faction leader)

I would like to see some sort of system for culture and likewise cultural based revolt. Where areas occupied by Rome (or other Factions) but does not share their culture will become rebellious (think Boudicca's Celtic Rebellion in Britain) and actually have rebellions where an army will spawn aligned to the faction that matches the provinces culture with a new random lord. capable of taking a weakened city. Also I'd like events that cause culture change in Cities such as migrations. I'd also like to see many cultures not just Roman Barbarian Eastern. For example how about Judaic (which will work great with a cultural rebellion mechanic with all those historical Jewish revolts), Arabic, Dacian, Illyrian, and Berber.

i would love to see a more complete intercation with your soldiers, like you could have complex talk with almost everyone, and you would be rewarded by doing that for uniting your army. Do you know what i mean? Like going talking to guard on the streets and having a more complex dialogue that a "I can't speak on duty sir" or "Nothing to report".

Also it would be cool if you dont male the troops clases of the roman amy divide into the legions, let us do tust make like "Serf->Levy->Legionary->Armoured Legionary->veteran legionary" instead of "Serf->Levy->Legionary->Legio 1 Legionary->Legio 1 veteran legionary" thats a popular thing that happens on other roman mods

A last thing i would wish, add interest points and locations like the vanila Vikings expansion. As well as more "complicated" building system for settlements

Looking thowards this mod, keep up the good work

There will be a building system with upgrading walls temples gates palace and special stuff like a port or an barracks more specialised system like rome2
Troops will level up this way: serf then they are taken to Forts for training and they become roman recruits then time will make them better

Could you implement a few special NPCs to roam the map as mercs and could sometimes join a faction? Just to make it a bit more of a challenge. Forgive me if my english is wrong...........

Hay there, I got a few awesome idea's from the game Total War: Emperor Edition.

No. 1: Add rumors, so basically if your brother(number 2) is trying to claim the throne, and spreading rumors about you, you can banish him from the kingdom, but all relations with your family(again number 2) will diminish -20 points.

No. 2: Be able to have a son, when you marry a wife, maybe have an option to, ya know, do it with her, and maybe 30 in-game days a baby pops out. Maybe after he/she is born(yes if its a she, doesnt have as much power, but still your daughter) then the girl is not a heir to the throne, but maybe if you have a son, he is an heir to the throne, so when you "Retire from adventuring" in the camp menu, he is now your successor.

No. 3:
Appoint people as senator's, governers, and add edicts for each provice. so if you appoint a horrible edict, your relationship with that town will diminish over time. Edicts in mind are:

Bread And Games (Produce more food in a settlement, and have more tournaments, or games.)

Resettlement (Move over all citizens to another province, such as when your being besieged, you can move over all your citizens to another province, atleast until the besiegement is over, and accompany them.)

Seize the King (used for players only with 60 right to rule, able to take over a faction king, if a vassal for him, and over 500 renown.)
Tax Farming (used for gaining for income, will severely decrease in relations with the city, because more money dumps out of civilians pocket.

No. 4: Faith in the Liege.

If the vassals, and the people of your kingdom do not have faith in you anymore (just like renown, you gain faith by beating enemy vassals, and eliminating kingdoms.) They will leave your kingdom to other kingdoms to serve them, if a vassal does not have faith in you, they will try to revolt, take your place as rightful liege, or just leave and defect to another kingdom.

No. 5: Besieging Poisoning, Assassinations, etc.

When a enemy vassal besieges your castle, or when you besiege a castle, you have the option to poison the castle or town, and severely diminish their forces, atleast by 20 troops, you can only do this every 5 besieges.

Assassinations are only used for assasinating people in the town. Lets say you send an assassin to the castle lord hall, and tell them to execute the castle commander, (20% chance of success, 80% chance of failure) if their successful in executing the castle commander, then they will be leaderless, and have more chances of surrendering to the "Surrender, your situation is hopeless" option. If it is failed, it makes them hate you even more.

Thats all my recommendations for this mod, I think this mod has a bunch of potential, and I want to help with that! Again, thank you for reading.
