Alliance are a serie of different mods. On the Star Wars GC, you can play the civil war Empire vs Rebel era + Black Sun and soon the Republic and CIS.
The Steam anticipated access from Vol'takes is ready. If you want that this game be finished and it be more and better, you should buy it.
Before you launch it. Check this information. Steamcommunity.com
This is my Steam opinion about Vol'takes. You will find it useful.
The Early Access version from Vol'takes released few days ago is probably the worse early version from a game never released. It can not be played, it has many unfinished features and it looks as a crap. From my point of view, or they are the worse developers from the world or they have released one work from two years ago. I feel how the point of view from the creators is very bad, it looks as if they did not understand what is a early access and they have not released their last work. In other early access, we have seen games at development and at this early access, we see a just a crap. However, I have a special view, I see this game very good for modding and I can see the differences with other games made with the same Glyph engine. I´m not very interested in the original game story. Even the early access can be modded easily. But I would like see at Vol'takes more new features and not less features. But............if we do not buy the early access, they are not any chance from release a good final version.
well, it looks like one of the early mods for EaW to be honest
hope its gonna get good though
it would look a way better (at least on level of contemporary mods), if they had a better texture artist...
Yeah and I get about the new features and possibilities but it always amazes me how modded content is always superior to the original in overall quality
"Always" well not counting the hundreds of mods that die out, dont get anywhere or arent as good :P
Yes petroglyoh was quite lazy on the textures tho
bad phrasing on my part =P
Two points:
It is a early access, you can not wait nothing finished but if you know the game, you will see a world of new possibilities. Even now, it has many things which you can not make at EAW with a mod.
The second point is how I do not see this game for nothing better than modding. By this reason I´m not interested at how good are their textures, I´m more interested at how one of my models can look at this. It has better shaders by example. But for the record, I would not be surprised if they run at EAW without problems.
Do you think it will be easy to convert an existing mod for FoC into a VT mod?
Do you think the new, converted, mod could then continue development and use the new VT features that you speak of?
It would be only a matter of time. There are parts from the code similar, but obviously, you can not make a copy and paste. However, very probably the models can run without edit them again in 3Dmax.
About new features, one very good is how the space units do not use always the same height and clearly the final space combat will be very different, more tactical probably.
Cool!
I just watched the video on Steam for this "Vol'Talkes". This is copyright infringement. Plain and simple. Modding EAW and charging money for it. the only thing different is the UI and models, but is still using EAW's code... $30.00 for a game that isn't even theirs to sell... Something like this is why mods get shut down by the respective game's owners.
