Description
I continue reducing the amount of code without delete nothing but I have made many fixes and improves at units. Lately I was continue my campaign with the Republic against all the other factions, it is fun. You can think how this faction is weaker but it has many good things as the powerful ground armies and at space battles its space units are not too weak.
The thing is, if you try to stay as cannon as possible, the Republic and CIS are seriously outdated, then you could balance it of course. This mod is awsome, unfortunatly my hardware doesn't always agree with me, and I get sooooo many crashes. :/ I hope your fix will work.
The word canon not exist more at SW.
But I do not agree at 100% with the opinion about how the Republic and CIS are outdated because there were many things from CW that there will not be in the Empire era and the Empire era is a era of restrictions but the CW era, it was a civil war era with all factions improving their weapons.
By example, a TIE Fighter has not shields but a Naboo Fighter has them. What curious if it was a very older unit than the TIE? SW universe is very different from real live, 20 years are nothing at technology.
I tend to agree, Canon, thanks to Lucas is now solely the 6 movies and the Clone Wars TV Show. Everything else is no fanon so we can make things up as we please now
Really you could have always done that, making things as you please, it's called artistic licence and imagination. I work on several sci-fi franchises including Star Wars and I have never let canon stop me from doing what I want.
I have a little catch phrase: "Canon is just an excuse for lack of imagination."

The TIE Fighter having no shields though is due to it being conceived as a galaxy-wide and disposable mass product - cheap and efficient. Other Imperial fighter models being equipped with shields and more advanced technology were produced in lesser numbers or even just as special forces.
